Black Lives Matter and Covid have been a profound turning point and I’ve decided to dedicate the rest of my working life to working directly with black and brown owned businesses, starting black and brown businesses and telling stories of people of colour. I may occasionally work with a brand if that brand is directly giving back in a sustainable, real and ethical way and elevating the community it profits from. With this new chapter, new mission, I’ve decided to leave Alizé. Don’t watch the crops on the posts, I forgot to hit the button, you get the idea! 😅 The first picture is my fave shot of any brand campaign I’ve ever done, shot by @hypemari in Shoreditch on a hot summers night and we were both in a verrry bad mood 😆, go figure , we turned it around and that’s the magic of working with your creative people. I’m proud of the work I did and the team I worked with, especially @riskyjavan and @hypemari who both really helped me re set that brand. But mostly I’m thrilled to have met so many wonderful people, y’all know who you are, many aren’t even on Insta, Facebookers stop messing about and get on Insta I’m like Billy No Mates on here 😁 it’s the people I’ll remember the most. I’m also glad that I got to give a couple of friends of our much much much loved and missed friend King Harry the opportunity to work on a brand, I know he would approve. He would especially approve of some of the good times we had after work, haha. Or ‘ pahahahaha’ he always text me that phrase 👑 It’s important that, as creatives, we do something meaningful that gives to the community and elevates our own people, telling our stories, that’s really the job of a creative to tell our stories. I’m going to be working with Javan on an exciting project, we soon come! 👀 I’m also going to move back into Movies and Television, producing, to do this mission work. With streaming technology everything old is new again! Happy days ... don’t remember much about doing EastEnders except Letitia Dean’s dirty dirty laugh and even dirtier sense of humour, Wendy Richards being nice to me after I basically forced her in a corner and told her how great she was until she said something nice to me 😅 I think it was a dare actually cos she was quite erm tricky... and weird stuff going on with the Male actors brake fluid on cars and criminal undertones it was very alpha male aggressive ... oh yeah and then ppl stopped speaking to me cos at lunch in Elstree on Top of the Pops filming day , we all shared the canteen, the regulars were moaning that Take That (at the next table) and Simple Minds maybe earned millions and the EE cast didn’t. I pointed out that actors in a soap are replaceable and don’t create the show and any actor can be in a soap and the show rolls on unlike a music act who create the music and are everything. Imagine my surprise when that didn’t go down well 😭🤣😆. Babs Windsor was so sweet ...and I remember Patsy Palmers first filming scene and everyone clapped in the green room watching it, w just knew she was gonna be fantastic ..I do remember something with Todd Carty, Nicole and Sue Tully and I when we filmed in Amsterdam but I shall take that memory to the after life 🙏🏾😉 by @jasonyatescreative

A billion years ago, with Dave Linton @ Elstree studios I think.. or a dive bar at the back of Granada Studios! I think he was doing #GrangeHill and I was doing a stint on #EastEnders. I left Coronation Street in protest at the blatant racism to EastEnders where the cast weren’t openly racist but they were kinda violent 😆 Even at Elstree I remember we were the only black guys in the studio and it took them that bit longer to open the gates for us. Bless em. Lol@ that finger sign, so 1990’s, don’t watch the red chinos, or the Pasadena’s haircut, they were everything in 1994.... it actually hurt to have that much hair gel on top of your head 👑ride on baby 😆😂🖤 Thanks Ian Aspinall for the time machine photo ☝🏽ahhh we had some good old times though didn’t we 😅 by @jasonyatescreative

It’s a strange sign of success. Strewn litter on a roadside. Two years ago these bottles (empty or full) and this brand were nowhere to be seen, a loved but distant memory within the culture and the wider consumer base. Now, the brand is inundated with consumer engagements, sales are up across the globe and the bottles are an Instagram hero again. Certainly this has been a challenge on all fronts 😌 I literally lose my mind trying (not always successfully) to oversee production, finance, sales , commercial, creative and brand across global markets, different time zones and very different teams but when I saw this ☝🏽 I was strangely and unexpectedly deeply moved. I guess one persons strewn litter is another persons triumph. I learned- again- that creative leadership is about seeing the vision in your head and never letting that image and associated feeling go, be compromised in any way. You have to have soft eyes, full heart and a hard head. It’s a shared experience with leaders, you doubt yourself all the time but never the vision. That time I was a pop star 😂 Sometime in the 90s I did a TV promo tour with The Flying Pickets in Spain and Austria to promote their album, I was standing in for someone. Had the best month with my brother from another @paulkissaunmusic We laughed constantly and ended up in an Austrian hotel trashing the swimming pool, throwing all the furniture in and jumping in naked🤣 I think I kept my shorts on didn’t want to eclipse the sun or cause a national emergency 😌 Of course if I went to Austria now I’d be beaten up by the far right! #theflyingpickets #popstar #tbs #lipsync by @jasonyatescreative
