Journey across America with two powerful musical visions. Dvořák’s beloved ‘New World’ Symphony captures the excitement and yearning of a land of promise. Inspired by American landscapes and folk tunes, it blends soaring melodies and lush orchestration - painting a majestic musical portrait of discovery and enduring spirit. The profound and nostalgic work is paired with American Indian composer Jerod Impichcha̱achaaha' Tate’s American Indian Symphony - a vivid, contemporary work shaped by indigenous stories and musical traditions in six different languages. Conducted by OBF artistic partner, Ken-David Masur.

2026 Guest Artist Spotlight: Javier Arrey 🎤🎶

Heralded for his “superbly refined voice” and “laudable performances” (Washington Classical Review), Chilean-born American baritone Javier Arrey has appeared in major opera houses including The Vienna State Opera, The Metropolitan Opera, Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Palau de Les Arts, Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Nacional de Chile, Washington National Opera, and San Francisco Opera. Arrey is also a world-class interpreter of Lieder and concert repertoire, with recent performances including Mahler's Lieder Eines Fahrenden Gesellen in Chile and Dvořák’s Biblical Songs and Gypsy Songs in the Czech Republic. He had the honor of performing twice in the U.S. Supreme Court for the Honorable Justices, invited by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. In 2017, Javier was given the “Congressional Medal of Honor” at the National Congress of Chile in recognition of his artistic accomplishments and his social labor to bring opera to populations who have no access to live performances.

Celebrating a legacy always touches me deeply.
It was an honor to participate last night at the 2026 Sherrill Milnes Voice Gala in NY, honoring such inspiring artists: Fabrizio Melano, Michael Ching, and my dear Carol Vaness @vishnauskas . As someone said: “Standing on the shoulders of giants”. As a new generation of singers and artists, we have so much to learn from these “giants”.

Honored to be able to sing some Verdi with my dear Mo.Eugene Kohn for such a distinguished audience and also to enjoy the artistry of all my colleagues who bring beautiful music last night…Bravi tutti ❤️

Special evening last night singing excerpts of “El último sueño de Frida y Diego” at the @hispanic_society and the American academy of Arts & Letters for their Artist Talk. Great to hear as well @gabrielalenafrank describing the creation of this great score in a very interesting talking with @derek.bermel.
