Honoured to be participating in the UNESCO World Heritage Youth Forum, where I am engaging with heritage professionals and institutions from around the world.

I’m proud to highlight the rich archaeological and cultural heritage of Sint Eustatius and the wider Eastern Caribbean, while emphasizing the important role that small island communities play in World Heritage, heritage conservation, and sustainable development.

A moment I will always cherish 🙏🏾

In July, I had the privilege of attending the 48th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Busan South Korea.

Being in the room where global decisions on the protection, conservation, and interpretation of our shared heritage being discussed was inspiring.

From the Caribbean to the wider world, our heritage tells complex stories and I’m committed to ensuring that communities, young professionals, and underrepresented histories remain part of those conversations.

It was greeting meeting new friends who share similar goals!

Meaningful chapter and more knowledge to protect Caribbean Heritage and beyond.

I’m truly honored to have been featured on @yonhap_news , South Korea’s national news agency, alongside my colleague @08devicolga .

During the interview, we reflected on our experiences at the UNESCO World Heritage Youth Forum and discussed how we hope to take what we learned back home and contribute meaningfully to heritage preservation in our respective countries.

For Sint Eustatius and the wider Caribbean, this work is especially important. Many of our communities are small island developing states facing a range of threats to our cultural and natural heritage from climate change and development pressures to limited resources for conservation.

Preserving our heritage cannot be achieved alone. We have to work together, share knowledge, build capacity, and empower the next generation of heritage professionals and communities to protect what makes our island unique!
It was a privilege to share this perspective on an international platform.

Honored and grateful to have presented at the 8th World Heritage Site Managers’ Forum in Busan, Republic of Korea.

My presentation, “Interpreting the Violent Past at World Heritage Sites: Youth, Community, and Shared Narratives,” explored how Caribbean World Heritage sites can engage with difficult histories through inclusive interpretation, community participation, and youth leadership. By embracing shared narratives, we can foster understanding, resilience, and a more meaningful connection to our shared heritage.

It was a privilege to contribute to this global dialogue alongside heritage professionals from around the world and to share perspectives from the Caribbean.

It is a great initiative that connects people with the island’s remarkable past while promoting the preservation and appreciation of its cultural and natural heritage.

Found these photos from my younger days studying archaeology at UWI Mona. It’s amazing how quickly time has flown by.

Looking back, those years helped shape my passion for history, heritage, and archaeology, and set me on the path that has led me to where I am today.

Time really does move faster than we realize.

It was an honor to accompany Raimie Richardson and Nicole Asin, Region Deal Programme Managers, on a special tour with Prime Minister Rob Jetten on May 15, 2026.

During his visit to Fort Oranje, we had the opportunity to share the rich history, culture, and heritage of Sint Eustatius (Statia). It was a privilege to showcase the stories and significance of this remarkable island and its enduring legacy.

I am pleased to share that I have been appointed as Assistant Heritage Inspector in Sint Eustatius.

In this role, I will support the protection, monitoring, and management of cultural heritage, working at the intersection of development, compliance, and preservation.

I look forward to contributing to the development of systems and frameworks that strengthen heritage governance on the island.

My work continues to be grounded in a commitment to Caribbean heritage, building on experiences in Jamaica, Antigua & Barbuda and Cuba across archaeology, construction, and policy.

I’m excited for the journey ahead and to collaborate with regional and international partners in advancing cultural heritage management.

I recently contributed to a privately commissioned historical publication on settlement patterns in Kingston and St. Andrew (1655–2010) authored by Mrs Stephanie Hunte.

My role included authoring the preface and contributing to selected chapters, examining how historical land use and patterns of development shaped the Kingston Metropolitan Area.

Even within a private project, one thing remains clear: many of the urban challenges we face today are deeply rooted in historical settlement patterns.

I look forward to contribute to Urban history.

This work continues to inform my interest in the intersection of history, heritage, and the built environment, particularly how historical insight can support better planning and development decisions.
