🌊💆🏽‍♂️🌊 I got baptized yesterday 🙌🏽🥹
This is my first time ever getting baptized and is by far the greatest day of my life‼️
So much relief and peace after this moment!

🧎🏽‍♂️I got tired of holding on to my past, all of the hurt, pain, disappointment, heartbreak, betrayal, sin, lust, anxiety, regret, depression, 🗣️ EVERYTHING!
I’m ready to hold on to blessings now 🤲🏽!!
I didn’t want to do it because someone else did it or people said it was the right thing to do.
I knew once I had the desire FULLY in my heart to get baptized, it was time!!

Matthew 3:17… And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”

😒 When the weatherman is wrong about the wind not being bad, you sit on the kayaks you have loaded up on the trailer and just imagine you’re out there hooking up to fish 🥲🎣 😂!

🤷🏽‍♂️ Oh well, me and my nephew decided to switch gears to grilling, that’s always a win 👨🏽‍🍳🍔!

Cleaning fish, especially flat fish, is a skill most anglers who catch and keep fish take extreme pride in doing! 👨🏽‍🍳🔪🐟

This is how Jesus’s teaches us to pray to our Father, God! 🙏🏽

Verse 5 – Jesus warns against praying like the hypocrites who love to stand in synagogues and on street corners so people can see them. Their reward is just that—public attention, not genuine connection with God.

Verse 6 – Instead, Jesus teaches to go into a private room, shut the door, and pray to the Father in secret. The Father who sees in secret will reward openly. The point is intimacy over performance.

Verse 7 – Don’t heap up empty phrases like the Gentiles do, thinking they’ll be heard because of many words. Prayer isn’t a formula or a volume contest.

Verse 8 – God already knows what a person needs before they ask. So prayer is about relationship, not informing God of news.

Verse 9 – Jesus gives a model prayer. It begins with addressing God as “Our Father in heaven” and honoring His name as holy. It sets the posture: reverence and intimacy together.

Verse 10 – “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” This prays for God’s reign to break into the world, aligning human life with heaven’s order.

Verse 11 – “Give us this day our daily bread.” A request for daily provision, not hoarding, trusting God for each day’s needs.

Verse 12 – “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” This links receiving forgiveness with extending it. The measure given is the measure asked.

Verse 13 – “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” A plea for protection and guidance away from spiritual danger, acknowledging human weakness.

Verse 14 – Jesus reinforces the condition: if a person forgives others their trespasses, the heavenly Father will also forgive them.

Verse 15 – But if a person does not forgive others, the Father will not forgive their trespasses. It’s a sobering boundary—forgiveness received is inseparable from forgiveness given.

I got busted!

Sometimes mature does be the worst 🙄! After about 5 minutes of being still, and her blowing, stomping, and bobbing at me, I said “screw it, she sees me” and took a photo 😭.

🔪💔 This is a sharp section—Jesus is getting to the heart of honesty.

Verse 33: “Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.’”

Jesus references the old law from Leviticus 19:12—don’t break an oath you’ve made to God. The religious leaders had twisted it to mean an oath was only binding if you specifically used God’s name. Swear by heaven or Jerusalem? That might be a loophole.

Verse 34-35: “But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.”

Jesus slams the loophole shut. Everything belongs to God—heaven’s His throne, earth’s His footstool, Jerusalem’s His city. You can’t swear by something that isn’t yours to offer up as collateral. Every “lesser” oath still involves God.

Verse 36: “And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black.”

This one cuts deeper. You can’t even control your own hair turning gray. What business do you have swearing on something you don’t truly control? It’s not just about oaths—it’s about humility before your own limits.

Verse 37: “Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.”

His conclusion is radical: let your plain word be enough. If your “yes” needs swearing to be believed, you’re admitting your normal speech isn’t trustworthy. The extra layer of swearing comes from the evil one, the original deceiver. Jesus is calling for integrity so complete that your simple word carries all the weight of an oath.

🗣️ Straight talk: Jesus doesn’t outlaw every legal oath (He answered under oath before the high priest). But He’s demanding your daily speech be oath-worthy on its own. No fine print, no crossed fingers, no need for backup promises.
