A Merriam’s on a management hunt this morning.

Surrounded by deer, elk, and coyotes — a reminder of how special these places are.

Grateful for the opportunity and the experience. So fortunate. #TurkeyHunting

No elk this time, but a weekend I won’t forget.

I started hunting because I wanted to be able to hunt with my family, and I finally got to do that. Early mornings, rain, cold, a flat tire and a whole lot of memories.

Wouldn’t have it any other way. Until next time #fishlake #girlswhohunt #utahisrad by @jayceeinthewild

Oklahoma gave me a whole different kind of hunt. First hog, one clean shot, and a pretty unforgettable week with my parents. #HogHunting #OklahomaHunting #girlswhohunt #builtoutdoors by @jayceeinthewild

Not every trophy is measured by its beard or rack. Got this little guy back. He was taken on a management hunt where we were specifically asked to harvest a Jake, so there isn’t much of a beard to show off and that’s exactly how it was supposed to be.

Hunting isn’t always about taking the biggest animal. Sometimes it’s about participating in the management plan, making a clean shot, and appreciating the experience for what it is.

He may be small, but he’s part of the story and he’s earned his place on the wall. Thanks @goodrbry for mounting him for me! by @jayceeinthewild

Didn’t draw any big game tags this year, but Oklahoma gave me a pretty awesome consolation prize. First hog hunt, a completely different experience, and one I won’t forget. Also, these Oklahoma skies are hard to beat. by @jayceeinthewild
