In Olympic Bridge & Jamsil Bridge, Seoul, South Korea <Time Defined by Darkness> ✍️ : ”I intended to reach the summit before the light faded, but I was ultimately too late. My choice of climbing route was to blame. The sun has vanished, and the orange hues of the sky have dissolved away. Now, it is simply an hour defined by darkness.“ ”늦지 않게 오르려 했는데, 기어이 늦고 말았다. 그저 어둠으로 정의된 시간.“ Silence of Light, Feeling of Moment 🌐SILENTLIGHT photo by Jayden Song My gallery is B&W at heart; color is a gentle subtitle for certain feelings. In Seoul, South Korea <The Electronic Control> ✍️ : “Back in the film era, without a tripod and in low light, ISO was our last stand to save shutter speed and exposure. Even then, ISO 2,000 was the limit. Now, with advanced electronics, we witness ISO 64,000, with textures even cleaner than the old ISO 2,000. As the boundaries between creation and processing blur, I find myself becoming numb to this ‘unrealistic reality.’” Silence of Light, Feeling of Moment 🌐SILENTLIGHT photo by Jayden Song My gallery is B&W at heart; color is a gentle subtitle for certain feelings. In Gayang-dong, Seoul, South Korea <The Infinite Loop of Sight> ✍️ : ”Reviewing the results, I found the narrative elusive and the focus disorientingly cluttered. Yet, ironically, that very lack of order is what makes it such an intriguing piece.“ ”촬영 결과물을 보니 무슨 얘길 하고 싶은지 해석이 안됐다. 그래서 아이러니하게도 더 재미난 결과물이 되고 말았다.“ Silence of Light, Feeling of Moment 🌐SILENTLIGHT photo by Jayden Song My gallery is B&W at heart; color is a gentle subtitle for certain feelings. In Jingwan-dong, Seoul, South Korea <The Rhythm of Light> ✍️ : ”The rhythm of light and the balance of dark... the human brain is truly a marvelous storage device. When I encounter such scenes, the sweet scent of my younger days, roaming the streets with a black-and-white film camera, drifts past my nose. My current habit of carrying a Zf might be a bridge, connecting me to the person I once was.“ ”빛의 리듬, 그리고 어둠의 밸런스... 간단히 Zf 정도를 지니고 다니는 지금의 습관 역시, 어쩌면 그 날의 나와 연결돼 있을지도 모른다.“ Silence of Light, Feeling of Moment 🌐SILENTLIGHT photo by Jayden Song My gallery is B&W at heart; color is a gentle subtitle for certain feelings. In Yongmasan(Mt.), Seoul, South Korea <Light on the Way Home> ✍️ : ”Walking the mountain path at night, I stumbled upon a clearing. There, numerous stone pagodas stood tall against the open sky. Perhaps because it is the land closest to the stars? Countless small wishes had gathered, gazing down at the city and reaching up to the heavens. I decided to add my own pebble before making my descent.“ ”밤에 걷던 산길에서 만난 광경. 조약돌 하나를 얹어 놓고 내려오기로 한다.“ Silence of Light, Feeling of Moment 🌐SILENTLIGHT photo by Jayden Song My gallery is B&W at heart; color is a gentle subtitle for certain feelings. In World Cup Bridge, Seoul, South Korea <Light on the Way Home> ✍️ : ”On my way home after work, my eyes were fixed on the light dancing upon the river. It’s a path I cross every day, but tonight, it felt exceptionally warm and welcoming.“ ”일을 마치고 집으로 돌아가는 길. 언제나 건너는 길이지만, 오늘따라 유난히도 정겹더라.“ Silence of Light, Feeling of Moment 🌐SILENTLIGHT photo by Jayden Song My gallery is B&W at heart; color is a gentle subtitle for certain feelings. In Ttukseom-ro, Seoul, South Korea <Questions of Light’s Trace> ✍️ : “To me, photography is about piercing through the subject to interpret its essence, and expressing that vision through a unique perspective within the frame. Yet, I feel as though I have never truly taken a photograph.” “내가 말하는 사진이란... ‘피사체를 관통해 본질을 해석하고, 프레임 안에 독창적 관점으로 그 감상을 표현하는 것.’ 그러니 여전히 난 사진을 찍어본 적이 없는 것 같다.” Silence of Light, Feeling of Moment 🌐SILENTLIGHT photo by Jayden Song My gallery is B&W at heart; color is a gentle subtitle for certain feelings. In Banghwa Bridge, Seoul, South Korea <Stillness, and the Silent Gaze> ✍️ : ”The subtle shift in a silent gaze as light diffuses. The seasons have always understood the perfection of the night.“ ”빛이 퍼지며 다가오는 고요한 시선의 차이. “ Silence of Light, Feeling of Moment 🌐SILENTLIGHT photo by Jayden Song My gallery is B&W at heart; color is a gentle subtitle for certain feelings. In Seonyugyo, Seoul, South Korea <Luminous Attention> ✍️ : “The sun existed for 750 minutes today, yet perhaps it was never as easy to gaze upon as it is during these final five. Everyone watches in silence. The emotions stirred by the setting sun seem to take the same shape in every heart.” “태양. 하루 750분을 존재했지만, 이 5분의 시간처럼 편안하게 바라보긴 어려웠을지 모른다. 그렇게들 조용히 바라본다. 지는 해가 만드는 감정은 누구든 같은 모양이다.” Silence of Light, Feeling of Moment 🌐SILENTLIGHT photo by Jayden Song My gallery is B&W at heart; color is a gentle subtitle for certain feelings. In Yanghwa Bridge, Seoul, South Korea <A Skyline Sculpted in Twilight> ✍️ : “The hour when fading light carved the city into form. I pulled over on the bridge and hurriedly set up my tripod. A rhythm of lines, planes, and dots emerged—drawing a scene devoid of any tension.” “사그라들던 빛이 도시를 조각해내던 시간. 다리 위에 잠시 차를 세우고 급히 트라이포드를 펼쳤다. 선과 면과 점들의 리듬. 긴장 없는 장면을 그려내고 있었다.” Silence of Light, Feeling of Moment 🌐SILENTLIGHT photo by Jayden Song My gallery is B&W at heart; color is a gentle subtitle for certain feelings. In Express Bus Terminal, Seoul, South Korea <The Voice Within Silent Void> ✍️ : “So many spaces cry out for attention. I had simply been passing them by in my haste. Yet, the emptier a space is, the more charming it becomes—because that is when its true voice is heard most clearly.” “날 봐달라며 소리내는 공간들은 참 많다. 바쁘게 걷다 보니 그 소리를 지나쳐 왔을 뿐. 공허할수록 매력 있다. 그 소리가 더 잘 들리니까.” Silence of Light, Feeling of Moment 🌐SILENTLIGHT photo by Jayden Song My gallery is B&W at heart; color is a gentle subtitle for certain feelings. In Yongdap-dong, Seoul, South Korea <A Silent Phenomenon> ✍️ : ”Looking down at the darkening Seoul from the mountain peak, I’m struck by how insignificantly small we humans are. Eric Clapton’s ’Change the World‘ suddenly pierces through my heart—along with the nocturnal light from the film ’Phenomenon‘ (1996).“ ”산에 올라 어둑한 서울을 내려다 본다. 영화 ’페노메논(1996)‘의 밤 빛도...“ Silence of Light, Feeling of Moment 🌐SILENTLIGHT photo by Jayden Song My gallery is B&W at heart; color is a gentle subtitle for certain feelings.
