Another birthday, another year, another celebration for you my lil nerd. I always say nobody knows the tears we shed in our home and you have seen a lot of mine but you always find ways to instill faith in myself and look towards the future. I thank you for loving me, thank you for helping me grow, thank you for believing in me. Alright guys, here we go with another episode of Just How Life Goes.

One of my favorite parts of this trip wasn’t just attending the summit—it was getting the chance to slow down and experience Detroit while spending time with some amazing people.

While Crystal and I were out exploring the city and taking photos, we got to admire some absolutely beautiful architecture. If you know me, then you know I love a good building with character and history. Detroit definitely delivered on that front.

But beyond the sights, what made the day special was the opportunity to bond and learn more about each other outside of HS. Sometimes when we meet people through chronic illness communities, it’s easy for the conversation to stay centered around our conditions. This gave us a chance to talk about life, family, goals, dreams, and all the things that make us who we are beyond our diagnoses.

After we finished eating, sightseeing, and taking in the city, we hopped on the QLINE and headed back toward the hotel.

And wouldn’t you know it? We ran right into Sadieh and Jayla!

Moments like that are exactly why I love these events. You never know who you’re going to run into, what conversations you’re going to have, or what friendships you’re going to strengthen along the way.

It’s always a good time when I’m surrounded by my fellow warrior sisters. 💛

Stay tuned because we’re just getting started.

Ahhh 2025 was a trying year to say the least. I am still grateful for the things I have accomplished:
- Going on my first Be Seen Ambassador Retreat w @theahsid - With my amazing group, screenwriting my first Ad and getting it published on social media
- Finding my love of learning again
- Seeing my friends get married 🥹
- Having people around me that celebrate me without wanting something in return
And for the thanks 2025. 2026 will be the best year yet of my life and I’ll make sure of it✨ by @jayheyhey

Today would have been your 62nd birthday.
I miss you as if it were yesterday. My laugh is turning into yours and I notice how much I look like you more everyday. I strive to be even a tenth of the woman, protector, and giver you were to the world. As I journey through this thing called life, I truly hope to make you proud.
