WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE TO BE SEEN? 💜

Sometimes, being seen is more than someone noticing you. It’s being understood without having to explain every scar, every struggle, or every emotion. It’s showing up as your full self and realizing you don’t have to hide the parts of you that others may not understand.

As part of the Be Seen Ambassador Program, I asked three fellow ambassadors a simple question: “What does it feel like to be seen?”

For those of us living with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), visibility can mean so much more than what people see on the surface. It can mean being believed, being understood, finding community, and no longer feeling like you have to navigate your journey alone.

This is what happens when we create space for people to share their truth in their own words.

💜 We all deserve to be seen, heard, and understood.

So let me ask you: What does it feel like to be seen?

Redefining Life’s Favorite Safe Spaces.

For too long, people living with chronic illnesses have been expected to survive in silence, navigating pain behind closed doors and believing isolation is simply part of the diagnosis.

I don’t believe that’s our future.

I believe in rooms filled with laughter instead of shame.
Tables where strangers become lifelong friends.
Conversations that replace fear with understanding.
Communities where our scars are met with compassion instead of curiosity.

A safe space isn’t just a location.

It’s a feeling.

It’s walking into a room and knowing you don’t have to explain yourself.

It’s being surrounded by people who understand your journey before you ever say a word.

That’s the future I’m committed to building.

Not just awareness.

Not just advocacy.

A movement where people living with chronic illnesses can gather, celebrate, learn, heal, and reclaim the parts of life they thought were lost.

We’re not just creating events.

We’re redefining what it means to belong.

It’s Just How Life Goes. 💛

Dreamcon 2026 was a time! It was made even better with my friends. Here are my favorite moments:

1. Getting all the love as Mama Odie
2. Getting uppies from Mr. Uppies himself @jay.roseeee
3. Meeting @mrloveballad. He gives such good hugs 🥰. Stream his music cause it’s 🔥🔥🔥
4. Getting my favorite Pokemon tattooed. Shoutout to @officialvoninkz

💜 And just like that… AHSID 2026 has come to an end. @theahsid

My heart is so full. 🥹 Thank you to every warrior, caregiver, advocate, healthcare provider, sponsor, vendor, and organization that showed up to remind us that we are never alone. Every conversation, every hug, every story, and every smile mattered. 🫂✨

Thank you for creating a space where we can reclaim our voices, build lifelong friendships, and continue changing the future of HS together. 💜

The marathon continues… 🏃🏽‍♀️✨
✈️ Next stop: Washington, D.C.

Now I have one question for my warrior family… 👇🏽

💬 Will YOU be attending AHSID next year? Tell me in the comments! If you’ve never been, what’s stopping you? Let’s talk about it! 💜

🌆💜 Some people see a rooftop… we saw a family reunion. 🫂✨

After Day 2, the sessions ended, but the healing didn’t. We laughed, hugged, danced, shared our stories, and reminded each other that no one has to face HS alone. 💜

One of my favorite moments? Celebrating Whitney’s @whittheconnect birthday together while fireworks lit up the sky. 🎆🎂 It honestly felt like the universe was celebrating every warrior in that room and all the strength it took to get there.

These are the moments people don’t always see… the friendships, the joy, the hope, and the community that makes living with HS feel a little less lonely. 🫶🏽

Because at the end of the day… every story matters. Every voice belongs. 💜

👇🏽 If you were there, comment your favorite moment from the rooftop! I want to relive it with you. And if you weren’t, tell me what community means to you. 🥹✨

Alright guys, here we go with another episode of Just How Life Goes. 💛

Walking into the summit and seeing everyone again instantly made my day. The hugs, smiles, and familiar faces reminded me why this community means so much.

And can we talk about breakfast? Because those croissants and cream cheese danishes were absolutely amazing. 😂

Now for lunch, I had my heart set on jerk chicken… only to find out they were basically out. 😭 The only protein left was falafel, which I had never tried before. So I told them to scrape every last bit of jerk chicken sauce they had left and put it over the falafel.

Honestly? It wasn’t bad at all. 😂

But the real MVP was Nutrition By Meghan Pendleton, Registered Dietitian, who later prepared an incredible vegan dish that had everybody happy, full, and asking for more. Huge thank you for keeping us fed and showing us that nutritious food can still be packed with flavor.

As the summit came to a close, I found myself reflecting on the friendships, opportunities, and memories made throughout the weekend.

Your girl is tired, but my heart is full. Thank y’all for following along. More content is on the way!

It’s Just How Life Goes. 💛✨
