Lovely confluence of Hindustani classical on piano and tabla with Irish folk on flute, sax and fiddle by pianist @utsavlalpiano

Loved how ragas Malkauns, Bhimpalasi, Jog and my fave thumri "Jamuna kinare mero gaon" blended seamlessly with the Irish reels, jigs, polkas and airs!

5 years of percussion that brought the rhythm alive.

And the show goes on. Follow Mahindra Rise and stay in tune with what’s next as we embark on the #MahindraSeasonOfFestivals 🎶

At the Mahindra Kabira Festival in Varanasi, Umesh Kabir, in conversation with Sanjoy K. Roy, explored the timeless wisdom woven into Kabir's songs. Reflecting on the line, "I have a lot of money. I can buy love. Where can I buy it?" Umesh observed that, according to the saint Kabir, love can never be purchased; it is found through understanding, realised through reason, and ultimately embraced in surrender. As the conversation flowed between philosophy and music, he reminded us that the deepest truths are not merely explained but experienced, for music remains the most powerful way to feel. In the city where Kabir's voice still echoes through every dawn and dusk, the session became a moving celebration of melody, meaning, and the immeasurable riches of the human heart.
