National ACDA 2025 - Dallas, TX

I still can't quite put into words what an awesome experience this was and how it's impacted me, so I'll use this as practice at being more succinct: What an honor. My heart is so full. 3 years, with an intermission due to a global pandemic, and a LOT of self-discovery later, my first year at CWU has come to an end. What a long, strange trip it's been. To say that this is bittersweet would be an understatement.

To see us all come back together after the last 2 years, some of us reuniting for the first time in what's felt like forever, and others total strangers. To accomplish what we have in what's felt like such little time has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. It was so magical.

Of course, this year wasn't without setbacks. I had my fair share of those. There were times that felt like a constant struggle; an endless, crushing darkness. Do I even deserve to be here? Am I good enough? Smart enough? Talented enough? It was exhausting, bleak, and suffocating. There were times where I felt like I was on top of the world. There were times that I felt like a failure. A fraud. A monster. I made a lot of mistakes. Some of those mistakes still haunt me. But, I'm thankful for one of my directors who reminded me that that's okay. It has nothing to do with my own perceived strength or weakness. It's me being human, and being human is not easy. I don't have to be everything right away. I should have grace to become the best version of myself over time. I believe him. I'm trying to be better, and that's all I can really ask of myself. I'm not perfect. I'm flawed. I want to be better. I am better. Better than I was yesterday, and that's a good step forward.

My heart is so full from all of the love and support from colleagues, friends, and family alike. When I fell apart, you were there for me. You never gave up on me for some reason I don't understand, and to that I say thank you. Thank you so much.

I'm going to come back, as a better person... I hope. I'd like that. How I look forward to that day. Until then, I'm looking forward to a long rest. See you soon. taken in Central Washington University by @jaykub.willis

winter quarter update: yay i survived!!! this quarter was definitely a low for me mentally, however i learned a lot and im proud of my growth and incredibly thankful for some wonderful experiences and people. looking forward to coming back stronger in spring :)
in the meantime please enjoy my descent into madness:
