This was an absolute delight to hear and record.

Little unexpected things like this steal the show for 47 year old Jay…something 27 or 37 year old Jay would’ve been far too wrapped up in the work that’s to do to engage with this art.

This is the city’s green-lighting of the building permit for 712 Brandon Avenue in Jackson.

Everybody got that one place they lived as a kid that they consider their childhood home.

This is my mom’s.

Her parents move from renting houses at THREE different addresses on Chenault Avenue to buying a home on Brandon Avenue was a major status step forward for the Maddens.

Moving here in the mid 1960s while she was at Hardy junior high school, Mom went onto Provine where she was a feature majorette in the Rams band.

Before all that, it took a gutsy leap of faith by Retus and Inez Madden to move from Conehatta to the big city.

I’m so glad they did.

Alas, 712 Brandon Avenue, and that big beige brick basket in the front yard, are no more. by @jaymaddenwhite

I made this picture of me and one of my dogs in the hopes of winning a cologne ad campaign for the cologne that says, “I’m a middle-aged man, but sometimes I don’t shave, and sometimes I hang out with my dogs and take naps”…
