Jaymo here. Just gonna puff my feathers real quick here on Instagram. Just finished a project with Wall Street week about Trump, China and the tariffs; specifically how they relate to the textile industry. Cameras were connected LIVE via cloud based bonding with a production team in NY City. I was on remote location with the guest. This is just an excerpt, and you can see the whole interview with the link in my bio. The brilliant Jeff Bowman was the subject. The textile industry and Trump’s Tariffs were the focus. by @jaymovision

With @coaviationservices we fly the Maule MXT 180 A. We chose this aircraft for a variety of reasons. First and foremost it is a certified aircraft. It is not in the experimental category. You cannot operate commercially without a certified aircraft. Most backcountry STOL aircraft are in the experimental category. The Maule is a unique and quirky bird. It has a 1000 lbs payload with 4 seats. You can legally fly it with doors off or on. It has fairly tough landing gear, not massive tundra style, but large enough for most maintained backcountry strips. Tires are not so big that they become a drag issue. The plane is a hybrid of sorts, featuring composites, aluminum, and fabric sections. With HUGE control surfaces it flies along safe and comfortable with full control at 50 mph. You put the rubber to the ground at about 30 mph. Makes it a great photo and sightseeing aircraft. Kinda like a helicopter with wings. The thing to notice is how big the vertical stabilizer "rudder" is compared to most common aircraft in this size. by @jaymovision

My current brainstorm is as follows: What is the perfect mix of low ISO to keep the windows from over exposing, low shutter and a ND filter slow enough to lose the propeller > but at the same time have enough data so the stabilization can do its thing as the high frequency vibrations roll thru the cockpit from the engine (intern causing some rolling shutter blur on the panel). Hmmmmm a very expensive and time consuming experiment. Low ISO directly effects the cameras ability to stabilize. Same with shutter. Ever notice camera companies never show footage from dark conditions? Or conditions where there are multiple exposure levels in the frame? Now ya know why. Ever notice that every camera company shows footage from sand dunes or pow turns on a sunny day? Complicated backgrounds and varying exposure levels make for a very difficult shot. So difficult that marketing agencies avoid it for the most part. by @jaymovision

Here I am standing atop another loose, rock strewn, volcanic cinder hillside; where only those willing to hold it all the way to the throttle stop, rev limiter engaged, maximizing every cubic centimeter of displacement .... will be successful. My rad friend Nick Wood @backcountrymoto.co has all 250 angry mosquitoes, buzzing up a storm, as he proves that even the lack of raw horsepower can be made up for with technique and being in the right part of the power band.
