My Summer Solstice piece representing the Goddess Bridget with the Celtic Triskel. Stitched on Eco printed cotton. I cannot credit the Artist who created the design as it was a random image I found on a Google search, probably AI. #summersolstice #goddessbridgit #Celtictriskele by @jayneburnside

Realize the last picture I posted on here was a Christmas picture so here's a little update of my cat River having a snuggle with me while I read. He's great company. by @jayneburnside

Greetings on Halloween also known as Samhain in the Celtic wheel of the year. As we appreciate the final harvest, we turn inward to explore our shadows and take rest and renewal. by @jayneburnside

I haven't posted any recent work since my solo exhibition in May. It's been a quiet summer art wise, but I have continued to slow stitch every morning while enjoying my cup of coffee. This is three months worth of stitching on my first Japanese rice bag.. some of the fabrics are eco printed, others hand dyed, some gifted, some from old dresses, tops, and what not. In doing a project such as this I have to remind myself repeatedly that I'm not trying to rush to the end to make something, rather I am appreciating each poke and pull into the fabric as a meditative practice. I will use this as a project bag for other slow stitch pieces. The second photo is of the bottom. by @jayneburnside

A week ago today I had my first solo exhibition surrounded by family, friends, and community! What a joyful experience! Thank you to everyone who attended and to the Alex Dufresne Gallery and especially to Kim Kitchen who brought this whole idea to fruition! Also sending gratitude to my friend Colleen who drove all the way from Thunder Bay to share this special day with me! by @jayneburnside

So this is the finished piece that I showed a part of a few weeks back. A lot of fun stitching, a piece of driftwood for my beloved beach and one of my Mandela designs . This piece represents my view that Motherhood should be a joyful choice, a celebration, and never forced on anyone. #mixedmediaartist #alteredbooks #junkjournals #handmadebooks #bookbinding #artjournaling #ecodye #botanicaldye #cyanotype #imagetransfers #arteveryday #northernontarioartist #assemblageart #markmaking #sacredofferings #slowstitching #handdyedpaper #tinybooks #collageartist #junkjournalfodder by @jayneburnside

Yesterday I attended a workshop and talk that accompanied the "Everyday is Extraordinary" exhibition at the Classic theatre inCobalt. Beautiful show and got to meet Artist Chelsea Smith and curator Felicity Buckell. Chelsea shared some of her beautiful hand dyed fabrics so we could stitch a small piece that represents community to us. My circle with the 10 tiny dots represents the 10 of us that were there and the energy radiating out into the community from Creatives. #cobaltclassictheatre #slowstitching #everydayisextraordinary #naturaldye by @jayneburnside

After watching a video by a woman in England, K3N Cloth Tales, who took the same online workshop as I did, show her book, it reminded me that I had never completed a video of mine. It's great how connections work in this community. #k3nclothtales #fracturedangelics #alteredbooks #junkjournals #handmadebooks #bookbinding#artjournaling#ecodye #botanicaldye #cyanotype #imagetransfers #arteveryday #northernontarioartist #assemblageart #markmaking #sacredofferings #slowstitching #handdyedpaper #tinybooks #collageartist #junkjournalfodder by @jayneburnside
