These are just some of the MANY excellent questions from my workshop in Brisbane yesterday.

🌟 Book Two in The Feathers of Farwood series will be out in mid-2027. Its title is even written within the back pages of Book One. 👀

🌟 Yes! Book Two is fully drafted and soon undertaking the editing process. Getting it JUST RIGHT takes time. But well worth it. 🤗

🌟 Also yes! I know how the Feathers trilogy ends and have written the majority of Book Three, including the closing chapters. I will finesse the final installment once Book Two is ready for print.

🐎 Bonus question from a workshop attendee: Are there any horses in Book Two?
🐴 YES! A horse IS in Book Two, along with some familiar characters and new ones.

Amazing afternoon at @wherethewildthingsare_bookshop in Brisbane for a school holiday workshop with 20 keen readers and writers. Lots of owlish craft and chats about storytelling and author life. Big thanks to Where The Wild Things Are for having me as part of the day 🤗✨📚

A bit of crafty trialling before some upcoming workshops.

Also, yes, my book has chapter titles (as seen in the first pic 👀). I find they help set the scene for the reader, and also helped me shape the action when writing. They’re also a good prompt to encourage ‘just one more chapter’ at bedtime. 📚✨

We need more positive energy around reading and opportunities for kids to get engaged. Especially in rural and regional areas across the country.
