Some absolutely gorgeous photography by @madeleinebrighouse 💚
Thank you so much for these, I love this band and that gig felt like such a full circle moment of our first gig together roughly a year earlier and about 30 metres to the left.

As always, shout out to this band, some of my favourite people in the entire world who took the nonsense I made in my bedroom and translated it into something of the proggiest, weirdest, noisy art rock I've ever had the pleasure to be involved in:
• @chunder.kat (on bass)
• @jayp.mp3 (on drums)
• @themightybooth_ (on guitar)
• @velveteenshakes (on guitar)
• @grievefinnh (on sax, who was at the gig but I didn't know she was in Auckland until she walked through the door lmao)

Bonus shoutout to the cool singlet I'm wearing, made by the talented & wonderful @inkdogshirts (I have no biases at all, you should go get one of my girlfriend's shirts) by @jayp.mp3

HERE IT IS

If you know me, you know I talk sentimentally about my band and how much I love them in like every 3RD post. This album is dedicated to them, the 3 J's and 2 K's who made up the LEIGH Cinematic Universe of 2025.
We recorded this as LEIGH, are releasing it as Maebh McCurdy & the Morrígan, and I can't wait to see where we go next with this music, this band, and my favourite people in the world 🐙

Composed, sung, guitared, trumpeted & edited by me (Maebh) [hello]
Guitared by the most in demand @themightybooth_
Bassed by the biggest of dawgs @chunder.kat
Drummed by the always workin' @jayp.mp3
Recorded, mixed, & filmed by sax god @andrewisdale
Filmed by the funk itself @velveteenshakes
Filmed by da king of da highway @yellowhat24

Also shoutout to @veronica_grace_brett who tattooed my arms 5 days before we filmed this, I don't remember what it felt like to have boring arms anymore. by @jayp.mp3

Coleoidea is a very important song to me. It's almost a love/hate song to my pre-transition self, to a weaker person with no boundaries who couldn't say no or do conflict. A spineless little octopus (non derogatory, past-tense).

🐙 "Coleoidea" is the term for the non-shelled subclass of cephalopods, which includes octopuses, squids, and cuttlefish. My mother and I are obsessed with Coleoidea consciousness and have read way too many books about it. 🦑

Oh nooooooo the song ends abruptlyyyyy, oh nooooo, if only there was a way to watch the full video? No. ...unless?? 👀

Me - Vocals, guitar, editing, composition
@themightybooth_ - Guitar, blue hair
@chunder.kat - Bass, stankface
@jayp.mp3 - Drums, always workin'
@andrewisdale - Recording, mixing
@yellowhat24 - filming, da king of da highway
@velveteenshakes - filming, full mana by @jayp.mp3
