Fancy digital photography of the busiest week of my life
I'm so glad I'm still doing music. I genuinely thought about stopping pre-being Maebh. It's my favourite thing in the world other than my loved ones and garlic & smoked paprika hummus.

THAT WAS THE BUSIEST WEEK OF MY LIFE
this might be my most excessively long post ever.

Thanks to @ladyhawkeforyou & @bigfan_nz for having me in the studio with 8 of the coolest queermusos I've ever met 💚

Finally having a release gig for @velveteenshakes' debut album was glorious 🪩

@jayp.mp3, @wrenneso & I are cooking something up with @codestheband, wild to jam with @loxmynness again for the first time since Grey Lynn Primary School band 🎺

Also I watched Blue Velvet and said it seemed like a comedy and then Una grimaced and all of the Lynchian things started happening taken in Big Fan by @maebhmccurdy

The album I'm making is nearly done! Here's some snippets and some polaroids 💚💖💜

Was late to my own radio show w. @wrenneso, saw my favourite trees w. @una.schenker, am drumming for @velveteenshakes, and have been playing lots of Slay the Spire II.

Next week I'm doing @ladyhawkeforyou's fancamp at @bigfan_nz and in 19 days I move house, someone bring me caffeine and mirthful fortitude.

Songs from the post:
1. WENCH
2. & WITCH
3. The End
4. collateral
5. The End
6. Virgo Moons
7. GOOSE
8. Swan Song (by @velveteenshakes) by @maebhmccurdy

Maebh McCurdy (me) & the Morrígan (my band) are playing BRANDNEW songs at the @aucklandzinefest closing party tomorruh.

Joining us for the first time on bass is @lucagarciaferrari! With @farrelltunks reprising his role from the lesbian museum, and @jayp.mp3 as usual holdin down the kit.

We're playing "Transition", "Bottle Opener", and "Collateral" live for the first time. New music era lessgoooo.

Also @clubrubysucks are playing too!! We're going for unconventional gig-type bingo with them and we currently have 4 out of 5!

Birthday Wench here, I'm 28 as of 9:15pm yesterday, and this morning @wrenneso and I found ourselves hosting @95bfm's Morning Glory.

I also (sorry film friends) am back on Polaroids, they're so dream-swathed and memory-like. Film looks good and crisp? What am I, a professional??

Last week I walked a catwalk and then was a speaker on an @aucklandzinefest panel. The only way I'm usually comfortable on a stage is with a guitar in my hand and a song I've played a thousand times in my mouth. Life is strange. They should make a videogame about that or something.

It's @wrenneso's birthday tomorrow so shower her in praise!
It's my birthday next Monday so shower me in praise too plz 💕

Also @unavida.s is a very good artist and drew the most gender affirming image I've ever seen of myself wtf 😢

Shoutout to @thefilmlab.nz for developing the film ✌🏼 by @maebhmccurdy

Zinefest! Wife! Pasta! NZIFF! I'm musicking in the background! (Not pictured)

I'm still adjusting to film photos lmao, my laziness to bus to Splendid is disrupting my Instagram game

1. Empathy for My Future Self (2025) team reassembled. I did the music, @shamplooh did the mastering, @tashi_rd did the artwork 💚💚💚

4. Finn & pasta
5. My ridiculous tablemates
5. Mulled-wine-drunk post NZIFF of Jim Queen

7. Splendid developed the films photos in this post (I'm sorry about the nipz you've seen)
8. @una.schenker at @mybarauckland after Big Girls Don't Cry
