‘I wish I could eat like you’
Step 1. Try training like me.

Simple ab workout, keep the core engaged and the rest will flow with it.

Bit of interval work to tick off both day 61, and the 2 month mark into this self-inflicted side quest.

Day 60/132 - This one feels like somewhat of a checkpoint. New shoes, new motivation, same idea of pushing myself to a point most people can’t comprehend.

Heart rate a little high for a recovery run but I put it down to the 1/4 zip 🤥

Prime conditions for running, the new @brooksrunning shoes absolutely loved the wet pavements - not. But they felt great regardless.
Any excuse to work hard and laugh often.

Back in Melbs = Back in business.

Runners high was defo the biggest feature in today’s adventure, definitely pushed my Novablast 5’s to breaking point so brought the Evo SL’s out of retirement. What. A. Shoe.

Rest, Rehab & Recovery continues so switched out the trademark Sunday long run for some shin, calf & ankle mobility work.

If you train/run and suffer from calf/shin pain try some of these and notice the difference inbetween runs.

Some serious muscle twitches throughout the session so you know the spots were hit.

Faster than the lifters, Stronger than the runners.

Running everyday doesn’t mean neglecting the rest of your body, all the muscles work together in everything you do.

Short session today as I was working against the clock;
Would usually add the following in for;
Chest:
- Push ups
- Cable fly’s
- Hex press

Shoulders:
- Lat raises
- Shoulder press
- Upright rows
- Shrugs

Day 47 & 48 #Banked

Feels weird typing this but after racking up well over 500k since the start of June, I’ve unsurprisingly noticed some feeling in my right leg - And after having shin splints earlier in the year this isn’t something I want to aggravate.

Rest, rehab & recovery is will underway and I’ll be back attacking the streets before you know it.

Is the journey over? Absolutely not.
Will I make up for the missed days in extra mileage? Absolutely.

84 days to go.
Half marathon event in September
Marathon debut in October

Don’t run before you can walk.

As runners it’s not as simple as starting your watch and attacking the streets. Just like a tradie with their tools or a chef with their knives - We need to protect our legs so we can work when we want to.

A simple routine like this 2-3 times a week can help to build and stabilise your legs from hips through to the hammys and shins down to your ankles. Start easy and when easy becomes casual add some extra weight, resistance or range of motion.
