To gain, to lose. To connect, to choose.

Today, I’d like to share a 5-minute highlight of my recital from a 15-minute musical montage. This featured some intertwining melodies, many reharmonizations, and custom vocal arrangements to represent different aspects of my life.

This part of my recital was created to represent the humanity of individuals’ perspectives amid dysfunctional realities. Love. Depression. Tough realities and tough conversations. Celebrating growth. Family conflicts. Enjoying the good moments. Reflecting on the bad ones. Life.

Friends, I want to say that no matter what situation you are in or what reality you are facing, there is humanity everywhere. There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. Let that be the thing that keeps you going through it all.

#throwbackthursday to December 2024! I played this awesome piece titled “Toccata on ‘Veni Emmanuel’” arranged by Adam Heron as the postlude for the last Sunday of Advent.

Edit: This is supposed to be performed in E minor, however, I had to lower it to Eb minor because one of the principal stops on the pedals was having an identity crisis on whether it wants to be a B or a C natural every time I play a B natural. 😂 by @jayteamermusic

SEUSSICAL with my alma mater @sfatheatreanddance! The absolute BEST way to start my summer. THANK YOU to the cast (and the SFA community) for the warm welcome back home. So much love and laughter, and even more theatre magic. I already miss this one so much, but it will live large in my heart for a long time. 💜 Thanks and axe’ em. 🥲

And, of course, a HUGE thank you to all who came to see the show. Another special shoutout and thank you to all my friends for coming in town to see it!!! We hope everyone had a great time!!!!!!!!!

Summer 2026 is here! We’ve already hit the ground running rehearsing Seussical (TYA Version) with my alma mater’s @sfatheatreanddance Summerstage Festival. (Shows are June 24-27.) Next, I’m going back up to Woodbury, MN to be a Counselor for @aspiremusicacademy Summer Stock camp - HOORAY!!!! (Our show will be on July 17.) Finally, I will make a return to Oklahoma City, OK to music direct Hadestown: Teen Edition with @kismetartsokc. (Shows are July 31-August 2nd.)

This is a summer of reconnecting with home and I am so thankful. It’s already been the best time being back at SFA, and I can’t wait to hug everyone’s neck when I get to Minnesota and OKC. Here’s to a summer of doing what I love most surrounded by some of the best people I know!!! by @jayteamermusic

March 1st, 2025. One year ago.

A recital, yes. But to me, it will forever be more than that. It was a celebration and a reflection. It was a display of vulnerability and invincibility. It was a release of what’s been, and an acceptance of what’s to come. And most of all, it was a night that showed raw humanity and all that can come with it. A night that will always live in my heart.

Thank you to all who came out and supported me. And another thank you to the people who helped me bring this night to life. Still, a year later, and forever and ever, a million thank you’s will never be enough for the experience you created for all of us that night. Especially me.
