POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’m happy to announce that I’ll be moving to Las Vegas this August where I will be a member of the Class of 2029 MFA in Performance cohort! This is a fully funded program that takes one cohort every three years, and I am incredibly honored to be here. Hearing what they strive for aligns a lot with what I was looking for.
Many thanks to my family, chosen family, and the friends and colleagues who knew I was doing this for their words of encouragement. Thank you to the handful of Houston theatre companies and directors who saw something in me. Thank you to Carolyn, Logan, Ricardo, and Michelle for being references! Thank you to Joseph for whipping my singing into shape!
And an absolutely GIANT thanks Shunté, my acting coach these last two years. She’s seen me laugh, cry, and everything in between since we started working together and I could not have done this without her. We all need a Shunté in our lives.
And lastly I want to thank me. Many people and experiences could have stopped me from doing this, but the little kid who wanted to be an actor has never stopped living.
Here’s to this new chapter and what will come! by @jayvalmont

can’t believe a year has passed since this moment! little story time: before i flew to NYC, i made a big sign to hang over the barricade, but MSG has a no sign policy so they made me throw it away. luckily i had a sharpie in my pocket hoping that i would get Avril to draw something on me to get tattooed. with that sharpie i was able to write something small on a poster and she read it and pulled me onstage. i didn’t get my “stupid tattoo”, but the fact that i got to sing the woahhhhhs during Young & Dumb made up for it!
i’m definitely sad i won’t be seeing @avrillavigne this summer. please tour again and draw a tattoo on me!
