Welcome back to day seven of our Italian summer vacation! 🇮🇹

We started our morning at the Vatican Museums, and WOW. I genuinely wish I could show you more because this place was absolutely breathtaking.

Between all the art, history, and the Sistine Chapel, I was so mesmerized that I barely recorded anything. And fun fact, you’re actually not allowed to take photos or videos inside the Sistine Chapel, so this was definitely one of those moments I just took in with my own eyes.

Afterwards, we admired St. Peter’s Basilica from the outside, grabbed some pasta near Vatican City, and made our way to Castel Sant’Angelo!

We also stopped by the Pantheon, wandered through a few shops, and eventually made our way back to Trastevere for drinks, dinner, and of course, more pizza!

Nothing too crazy today, just lots of walking, exploring, and soaking up the beauty of Rome.

ITALY DAY 6 🇮🇹🍝🍷 — our first day in ROME!!!

After the most magical few days in Florence (and casually becoming FIANCÉS 🥹💍), we hopped on the train and headed to Rome!!!

But first… McDonald’s. 😂🍟 And I’m sorry, but it just tastes BETTER over here. Those spicy nuggets had me in a chokehold. 😭

After about a 2-hour train ride, we finally made it to Rome! I already knew we were going to be exhausted after nonstop adventuring in Florence, so for our first day we made ZERO plans. And honestly? Best decision. 🤌🏼

We took a taxi to Trastevere, checked into Nikki’s Collection, and spent the rest of the day just exploring our neighborhood. 🛵🍷✨

A little window shopping 🛍️
Tried on some glasses 🤓
Gelato, obviously 🍦
Found a random sandwich shop that was SO GOOD 🥪
Walked over to Piazza Trilussa*for live music 🎶

…and ended the night on our hotel rooftop with a bottle of wine until we basically fell asleep up there. 😂🍷🌙

No itinerary. No rushing around. Just our first little night in Rome soaking it all in. 🥹🇮🇹

And the best part… this was officially the beginning of our little fiancé-moon. 💍😭🤍

Come back for Italy Day 7 because we’re actually exploring ROME!!! 🍝🏛️🍷🛵✨

ITALY VLOG 04 🇮🇹💍🎞️
the day I became a fiancée 🥹

5:00 AM wake-up call because José planned a sunrise morning overlooking Florence. 🌅

We made our way to Piazzale Michelangelo and at 6:30 AM, he asked me to marry him. 😭💍

Funny enough, we had been doing a little tripod trend throughout our trip and right before this… José BROKE THE TRIPOD. 😂 Somehow I managed to prop my phone up on a light pillar, hit record and thank GOD I did.

José said the most beautiful words, I cried basically the entire time, and even though the phone was too far away to catch much of what he said, I’m so grateful we have this moment exactly as it happened. 🥹

And 6:30 AM?! I was born around that same time. Maybe it means absolutely nothing 😂 but as someone who LOVES mornings + sunrises, it made it feel even more special.

We met in 2016 and became the bestest of friends.

He asked me to be his girlfriend a couple of times before I finally said yes. 🙊 I remember telling him, “If I say yes, I’m doing this for the long haul.”

And here we are. 🥹🤍

Nine years of growing up together, choosing each other, and building a life I’m so incredibly grateful for.

Turns out, I really did mean the long haul.

Now I get to marry my best friend. 💍
