I’m pretty sure there’s nothing better than watching your kid enjoy something they love SO much!! Last night’s Weezer concert was just that!! Parker LOVES them! This tour was celebrating their new Gold album. So she was passing out gold beads & body paint like bracelets at a T Swift concert and knew the lyrics to every song! I didn’t know that opener, The Shins were from Albuquerque! This was their first stadium show and they crushed. It was such a fun night!! Live music is the best!🎶🎤 by @jbacaj

Can you believe this guy is 90 today? Here’s how he’s squeezed so much life from his years… 1. When he was working, he ate the same poached egg on toast for breakfast and tuna sandwich with an apple every single day for lunch. No extra decisions, no time wasted. 2. Every lunch hour when he was a judge, he would walk. Now he starts every day of retirement with an extended stretch sesh. 3. He worked in law for 60 years! First as a D.A. and finally as Chief Justice of the NM Supreme Court. He was excited every single day to go to work! 4. When he should have been planning a wedding, he was running for office and our mom was making signs on poster board. There wasn’t a plan she didn’t support or an idea she didn’t improve. And they still enjoy each other’s company. I’ve never seen two people who have more to say to each other on a daily basis! 5. Yes, he has a strong faith in God and still goes to church every Sunday. And from the moment he heard Dennis Chavez on the radio, he knew he wanted to be a lawyer. He believed he could. He believes in the capacity of everyone to do great things. 6. He never missed a dance recital, birthday, teacher conference, performance or even a dinner. He planned his work schedule around our school schedule and took us on long summer vacations every year. He traveled with his own adult sisters showing us that family is always the best company. 7. He’s always doing a crossword, reading a book or newspaper. Sharp as a 📌 8. At 89, he moved across the country from the city in which he grew up to live closer to us! At 87, he went to an Usher concert in Vegas. He’s always up for a show, a new place, a fresh adventure. 9. He loves his Lobos and he loves his people! He’ll always be at your event/ celebration! 10. One of his greatest joys is sharing his knowledge. Giving back to his communities. Helping the next generation climb even higher. 11. He is the king of dad jokes! Our mom said she married him because he made her laugh. He had a very serious job and serious accomplishments but he never takes himself too seriously. 12. You haven’t lived, until you’ve had a Joe Baca martini!🍸 Happy Birthday Dad! A friend recently asked if I’d switched my skin care because I looked so dewey. Nope! Just added ✌🏽daily shots of liquid collagen to my routine. When I told a local friend I was going to see Garth Brooks, she said “huh, I never pictured you as a Garth fan.” And I guess if you’ve only known me as an “adult” that would be true. But I grew up in the southwest and college Jolynn took country dance as her PE credit with her growing up friends and spent many nights at Midnight Rodeo “practicing”. There was no better dance partner than our friend John. He took turns spinning us around the floor and every time “Ain’t Going Down Till the Sun Comes Up” started to play I would squeal, put down my beer and find him so we could swing dance and he could spin me around and around. Thanks mom & dad for all the dance lessons that taught me how to spot. 😆 Last weekend I saw Garth in concert for the first time (other than the Obama inauguration festivities) and at 64, he’s still got it! He THRIVES in front of a crowd like no other artist I’ve ever seen. He’s not just performing for you, he’s in it with you. And when Trisha Yearwood popped out of the stage to celebrate her birthday the best way a performer can…on stage…the crowd went wild with surprise. In case you didn’t know it, my baby sister is a huge Garth & Trisha fan too. I’m pretty sure this night made a fan out of her Jersey boy husband!
