Life can change fast! Take it all in🥰 it’s so crazy and exciting to me that this time next year I will be in a wedding dress, in Nashville, about to marry the love of my life. I’ve also just booked my trip to Australia which feels very aligned considering moving forward this will be our anniversary! We reunite in two weeks and will finally be celebrating our engagement but most importantly doing life together again. My life has never been normal so why start now 😅 of course my man would be the other side of the world!

I wore this dress as it matches the vibe of True Lips so well and I wore it when I read a poem last year on stage in NYC. The moment the determination to write this book became stronger. Once all dressed up I realised I look like I’m auditioning for Legally Blonde and I am not mad about it. Fourteen year old me would be absolutely over the moon with this look 🥹😂💕

I said yes to the dress…whatttt?! Me?! It usually takes a lifetime to even find a dress for an event but getting my wedding dress ended up being suspiciously simple😅 as a wheelchair user I have to consider a lot so I’ll share more about the alteration process soon. A big reason I wrote True Lips was to feel empowered by my truth and to encourage others to live their most authentic lives too. We can often hide our truest selves but I’ve learnt that being ourselves we actually find our best paths in this world. If True Lips does anything I hope it helps you feel less alone and more empowered to be you💋

For years I’ve been telling people that my biggest project and personal goal was to write a poetry book but I felt like the momentum had stopped. I’m not a techy gal so that side of self publishing was holding me back. Then on the anniversary of my accident, I was laying in my hotel bed in Barcelona when I signed up for @poemsandpowerpublishing 🌹 I’ve been taking Chelsie’s classes for years and have found them inspiring and liberating. So naturally when she announced her publishing house to support her poets I was like…PRAYER ANSWERED!

Since May I have gathered all of the poems from notebooks, to scraps of paper to my notes app and created the True Lips manuscript. Lots of meetings later my book, my heart, my diary is yours to hold.
I realised I had to celebrate this achievement with a launch. For about five seconds I had imposter syndrome thinking I wasn’t worthy but, as always, I dusted those feelings away and decided to pull off a book launch in two weeks. I had never organised such an event before, but it was a complete success. I am beyond grateful for everyone that has helped me on this journey and I am grateful that I always follow my heart💕🌹💋
