Her cup is filling.
@braidingwithtongue called us all to the waters.
Her words flowing,
activate a release of the oceans within me.
Through time and time again, it has always
been the women gathering by the water.
@kimmerywrites finds an old poem she had forgotten
but is still very relevant
"We are all just like our mothers & by that I hope you know
I mean the Earth".
Every cell in my body agrees and lights on fire like the burning Everglades to my West.
I've been crying for weeks and the King Tide just flooded Hollywood Beach to my East.
I've been so emotional, it feels almost hormonal.
Or maybe I'm just one more feral female about to snap at these pedos and rapist weirdos.
About to join the rebellion of women warriors because where have all the cowboys gone?
Or maybe it's because I'm in my "fourth trimester" as @nontoxnina calls it.
My book baby has birthed
and all the words
I was holding on to for years are now out of me and free
The placenta is pouring in the aftermath of a manifested manuscript.
@videothepoet says "I love you and I meant I will hold our sins in my prayer".
I tell her I will help lift this prayer for the world, for love.
I wonder if God is keeping tally.
I think back to @kimberly.wroteit 's warning that "even God snaps her fingers and makes the earth shake".
A month later, my motherland shook
7.4 magnitude
memories and moments frozen in time
buried alive.
Like in every bible story
our people ascended from the fall.
Los berracos no se rinden!
When Venus whispered in @acupajo's ear and said
"Where are you in all of this, dear?"
I realized that after years
of despair, depression, analysis paralysis, loneliness,
I had not only survived
I had alchemized!
As @jbone says "our view is twenty-twenty, big hearts, tough minds"
@arianatheauthor asks "Who pays to program your truth?"
and this line lingers in my mind
like every Matrix movie
I suddenly have a craving
to give my people flowers and words
because @tara_ohcollective taught me to not be afraid to say "When you die, I will miss you."
Another scary thing
I will be facing,
my newest trend.
This is what happens when all your friends are brave...

What an absolutely magical evening! 💕✨

Last night, we had the absolute honor of hosting the incredible @jbone89 for the official launch of her beautiful new poetry book, True Lips 💋📚.

We are incredibly grateful that Jordan chose our little coffee shop and bookshop as the intimate venue for such a milestone moment. The shop was practically bursting at the seams with love, support, and an amazing turnout of beautiful souls who came out to celebrate her.

From the endless flows of pink lemonade to the deeply moving poetry readings, the energy in the room was pure magic. There is truly nothing better than seeing our community come together to uplift local talent, share laughter, and celebrate the power of words.

We could not be more proud of Jordan—the evening was a massive success, and her words have already left a lasting mark on all of our hearts.

A huge thank you to Jordan, and to everyone who grabbed a ticket, bought a copy, and filled our space with so much warmth and love. If you haven't picked up your copy of True Lips yet, make sure to grab one! ☕📖🌹

My lovely friend @jbone89 has poured so much of her heart into True Lips 💋 and seeing all of that work finally become a physical book is just SO exciting.
