Welcome to the world Luka Daniel Trninic!

Luka joined us by surprise on August 16, 2024, 6:51 PM over a month before he was due. I was just finishing getting a pedicure (luckily my toes were finished by the time I stood up) and my water broke right there in the nail salon. I made it to my car and drove myself to the hospital, not sure what the next steps would be and from that moment, we didn’t leave for a number of days. Luke was born in a fast and furious fashion seven hours after being admitted. He was only 33 weeks and 5 days. We spent the next couple weeks in the Nicu with the most amazing nurses that calmed our fears and anxieties and took incredible care of him. They helped him breathe, figure out his jaundice and get used to a new on eating regime. Though the first few days were extremely scary for us and we asked the doctors and nurses a million questions, we soon realized how strong this little dude was and knew that he would be OK. On September 2, we graduated from NICU (at only 36 and a bit weeks) and took him home to continue smothering him with love. It’s amazing to see how much he has grown and developed in the short period of a month and I know before long he will be reaching the high shelves of the cupboard to pass down the cups for me and I will look back on this day like it was yesterday. I feel so blessed and grateful for the support of friends and family and for the amazing staff at BC Children’s Hospital. This has been one heck of a journey!

It was so much fun and really special to be able to capture the gender reveal for these 2 friends of mine recently. Although I’m sad to say it was RIP to my outfit that day 😂 🎨
