Deee-licious! No trip to Key West would be complete without a big ol' slice of Key Lime Pie! We made it to @keywestblueheaven the day before they take summer break and had this beauty - yummy graham cracker crust, a perfectly balanced layer of sweet and tart key lime, and a mountain of delicious meringue - so good!

A cat's life (only slightly jealous) ❤️ in the 1930s, it's said a ship's captain gave a white, six-toed cat named 'Snow White' to Ernest Hemingway. Today, there are over 60 cats who have the run of the historic Hemingway House in Key West - frequently lounging on pathways, furniture, and shady garden spots. Found this little guy enjoying an afternoon nap in the garden 😍

🌺Where it all started. I’ve been collecting tiki mugs for over 20yrs and have amassed a collection of over 300 mugs. We even created a tiki lounge in our guesthouse, called @halehonuatx to showcase them. When people ask how the collection started, I tell them this story -

🗿As a young kid, I remember my mom and dad brought home two tiki mugs from a night out. At first, my young brother and I were a little freaked out by them, but they soon became favorite glasses. Sadly, they were lost to time.

🍹Years later, I came across pictures of the Orchids of Hawaii mugs R-73 and R-71 and recognized them immediately. After a little searching on eBay, they were the start of a two decade hobby.

I’d originally thought everything started at the Tiki Resort / Waikiki Supper Club in Lake George, New York. But while cleaning out my parent’s home, I came across this treasure.

📸This photo, from 1965, was taken in the main dining room of the legendary Hawaii Kai in Manhattan, soon after it opened in 1962. The main dining room, called Hula Wei, was large, with a stage, and thatch-covered booth “huts” along the edge of the room. It was also where the nightly luau and Polynesian revue was held. I think they might have been celebrating their first anniversary.

😍These photos are especially meaningful to me because they capture my parents enjoying an evening in one of New York’s most iconic Polynesian restaurants. I was born in 1967, so tiki really has been in my blood my entire life. ❤️

❤️ With heavy hearts, but also deep gratitude for a life so fully lived, we share that our dad, Adrian Breitenstein, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, at the age of 88.

He lived an exceptional life - remaining independent until the very end, and surrounded by love when he passed, with my brother Dave, me, and dear family and friends by his side. We are heartbroken to lose him, and yet so thankful for the many years, memories, laughter, and love we shared - and for the countless lives he touched along the way.

For those who would like to join us in celebrating his life, funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26 at 2:30 PM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1735 Alexander Rd, Delanson, NY. A reception hosted by the Knights of Columbus will follow at 3:30 PM in the church hall.

Dad meant so much to so many. We would love to gather with all who loved him to honor, celebrate, and remember him ❤️

È buonissimo! This Mezzi Paccheri pasta from Pastificio Bragagnolo is Da leccarsi i baffi! “So good you could lick your mustache!” So delicious, it doesn’t even need sauce 😋 but topped it with a roasted red pepper, artichoke, and mushroom red sauce - and plenty of garlic, of course! 👨‍🍳 @pastificiobragagnolo

It’s crawfish season. Because @skotoart has a severe shellfish allergy, I’ve never been to a crawfish boil. So while he’s safely on the other side of the planet 🇮🇳 I went to @theboatatx for dinner. All around me, people were enjoying piles of steaming hot crawfish 🦞 but since I’ve never had them, I asked if I could add a sample to my order and they kindly obliged. With zero skillz, I crushed the first one - not in the good way - it looked like a crime scene… they must have taken pity on me and sent me this second one. I managed not to be a “serial crusher” and eventually got the tail meat out. “Mais la… too much damn work, cher.” Not my thing. I’ll stick to Étouffée - same soul, way less shelling 🤣
