Stevenson Everett, is an incredible singer/songwriter here in Nashville! He’s flourished in SongwritingWith:Soldiers with a big heart and amazing artistry!
This is the first song he wrote in our program a number of years ago with a wonderful Vietnam veteran Paul Strickland.
Listen to Paul and Stevenson share the story behind the song on “Footprints In My Mind”on YouTube. The song is one of 15 tracks featured on our upcoming album, “The Power of Being Heard,” that drops on November 6.

“Daddy’s Son” is out now.

Written at Boulder Crest as a tribute to a fallen comrade for his son, this heartfelt song honors a father’s life through the voices of those who knew, served with, and loved him. It offers his son the guidance, love, and life lessons his father never had the chance to share, ensuring his father’s spirit lives on through the stories and values he left behind.

Wrote this song back in 2018 at a SongwritingWith:Soldiers retreat at Boulder Crest in Arizona, with an amazing group of Army Rangers.
Their buddy Tommy had passed away in action six years prior, and they said his 8 year old son was really needing his Dad right now.
We wrote a song that was some words of wisdom and love from the perspective of Tommy back to his boy. This song means a lot to me, and I feel so grateful to be a part of it.
What made this recording even more special was being able to have my son Brody sing harmony on it with me.
Please watch the story behind the song and take a listen to it wherever you listen to music.
