the first show I was involved in at @voxeltheater was in 2021. Now - 5 years and 7 productions later - I’m jumping from designer/mixer/engineer to Assistant Technical Director. Thrilled to be learning from @alecsparks and making magic happen at this theater.

Special announcement! We will now be screening "Valley of the Golden Egg" at the chic new Werewolves Welcome after the 2640 show on September 4th. Come kiki with us over a cocktail and peep this unhinged music video conceived and directed by dear pal Sierra Ho. And to keep the good vibes going, here's a first look from the video.

Fun fact, Sierra wanted all the effects, lighting, and underwater vibe to be conveyed through DIY practical effects, and Aris's ghostly dress (pictured here) was too heavy to move in the fans. Still had a fun time playing the song acoustic for these stills before filming started and can't wait to show you the final look! Keep your eyes peeled 👀👀👀

"Valley of the Golden Egg" will be released as a single and music video on September 4th and we hope you'll come out to see us play with dear ones Amy Reid, Bloody Crying Twinks, and Sylvia Jones. Stacked lineup!!!!

@jdsjy and I have been making music together for over a decade but haven’t improvised together for a long time. Really fun to break out some new sounds together at the Red Room last week.

Also…@highzerofoundation started releasing some videos from High Zero 2025, edited skillfully by @alejandro_quilesss. I’m having fun re-living these sets with @matthewryals & @ill_iterate and @allegedlymusic, @maxwell_gong, & Taylor Washington. Check them out on their YouTube channel and of course mark your calendars for High Zero 2026 (Sep. 24-27) by @jcharney

ABOUT
Music For a Ghost River is a new site-specific performance constructed around the sounds of a buried stream that runs below the @baltimoremuseumofart Sculpture Garden.

Through microphones dropped down a storm sewer, musicians @bruce_villain @jcharney and @__prairiesky__ will use the hidden waters of this creek as an instrument, variously accompanying, manipulating, and expanding its sounds through a combination of acoustic instruments (flute, saxophone, guitar, harmonium, etc.), live sampling, and electronics.

Ace sound engineer: @owlshots

This performance builds on the work of Ghost Rivers, artist Bruce Willen’s public art project that visualizes the lost path of buried stream Sumwalt Run. The first site of this 1.5-mile-long installation is located just south of the BMA at Wyman Park Dell. A small branch of Sumwalt Run flows under the Sculpture Garden before emptying into the large sewer where the stream’s waters are now hidden.

✨✨✨

Thanks so much to everyone! Really blown away be the interest in this performance! taken in Baltimore Museum of Art by @jcharney
