Venn Modular Seating is featured in the most recent @dwellmagazine as a contemporary alternative to Mario Bellini’s iconic Camaleonda sofa system released in 1970.

A very full circle moment for me since Bellini’s work was a major reference throughout this project and my graduate thesis work. I love designs that, through modularity, have the potential to become spatial and immersive. The Camaleonda and its rigid counterpart, Gli Scacchi (modular, stair-stepped side tables!) were often in my research presentations and perhaps this is the best time to mention that Venn can be configured in many different ways, including a raised conversation pit. ☁️🥰☁️

Many thanks to @adrian_madlener and @dahowarth for including my work, and to @otrasformas.nyc for their support.

An absolute joy and honor to spend 2 weeks at @haystack_school Open Studio Residency.

I bounced between studios learning new skills (pressure printing, paper making, soldering!) and trying new experiments to fuel my work moving forward — connecting wood and textiles, disrupting smooth surfaces, and chasing the vibrant chartreuse and greens I saw in Deer Isle.

The residency felt like a hopeful sliver of craft utopia filled with thoughtful conversations, laughs, impromptu demos, experimenting, karaoke, walks to the beach, cold plunges, and JENGA. Very grateful to my fellow residents, studio technicians, kitchen team, and staff who made this magic possible. I’ll remember these two weeks fondly. ✨💕 taken in Haystack Mountain School of Crafts by @jchoooooi

A many photos carousel to show proof of being alive in the year 2025!!!

2025 was one of the most jam packed years of my life. I survived grad school! Had many sleepless and stressful night that were relentless but made lighter with friends, candy, and martinis 🙂‍↕️. I took a gloriously slow summer break and enjoyed THE ocean state that is Rhode Island and trekked around greater New England whenever I could. I showed work in New York and Providence throughout the year, including at ICFF and Otras Formas ✨. I taught classes at RISD and at MassArt and learned so much. I joined the team at Pneuhaus making dreamy experiential and soft projects. Throughout it all I remain so lucky to receive so much love and support from friends, family, and Michael!! Oh and our cats Pork Belly and Bubble turned TEN this year and I started setting up my own studio space at Smokestack Studios.

Here is to a more healthy and balanced 2026!! New projects to come and I’m looking forward to taking things slowly but just as fully. by @jchoooooi

For S/S 26 recent RISD graduate Jennifer Choi introduces the Seasons Mirror, a meditation on the passage of time. The mirror sits within rotating ellipses, mimicking the movement of clock hands. The design presents a knot-like enclosure, a soft upholstered frame holding the present moment.

Soft Potential, my thesis body of work at RISD 〰️〰️〰️

Soft Potential highlights the potential of furniture and objects to encourage idiosyncratic and open usage through flexible, modular systems. This reflects my aim of designing non-prescriptive work, exercising a soft approach to furniture design.

Softness is a guiding principle. Color, curved lines, textiles, and wood are combined to invite tactile interaction.

Softness is a rejection of rigidity in support of human tenderness and agency.

Many thanks to my thesis committee Lothar Windels, Emily Cornell Du Houx, and @jonahtakagi
