I dont want to give too much away .... but the fabulous @missoliviachan and her radiant smile, is the star of the show!

Thrilled to have this piece accepted in the FACE2024 Society of Portrait Sculptors annual exhibition.
I find the company I keep there is of an astonishing quality. I feel deeply, deeply honoured.
“I Can’t Breathe” was my artistic response to watching the 8 minute 46 seconds it took to murder George Floyd by a police officer that was filmed and went viral in 2020.

‘Shattered Peace’
Digitally sculpted in ZBrush, starting from a sphere.
My reaction and response to seeing a photo of a 15 year old girl whose right leg was blown off, above the knee, by a bomb at the start of the Ukraine war. Using my artistic voice to express my outrage and fury. A portrait of the young girl. Masha Feshchenko.

When will it become unacceptable for child casualties in the pursuit of men driven wars?

@gretathunberg
I was so upset by her haters (a swarm on social media) that I sculpted her being buffeted by the elements and because it’s all she’s ever asked: I called it “Follow the Science“
One last week at The Garrison Chapel,
8 Garrison Square, Chelsea Barracks London SW1W 8BG. 11am-4pm closed bank holiday Monday last day Friday. Face2022 the Society of Portrait Sculptors exhibition is gobsmackingly wall to wall incredible and diverse quality. DM me if you’d like to meet me there next week.

From my mentor Today’s Daily guidance:

When we create or appreciate art, we set free the spirit trapped within. That is why art arouses such joy. Art-whether skillfully executed or not-is the emotion, the pleasure of expressing life as it is. Those who see art are moved by its passion and strength, its intensity and beauty. That is why it is impossible to separate life from art. Political and economic developments may seem to dominate the news, but culture and education are the forces that actually shape an age, since they transform the human heart.

I can’t tell you how much it means to me to have my portrait make it into the @societyofportraitsculptors annual FACE2022 exhibition.
My sculpt “Follow the Science” can be seen from August 8th - 2nd September at the Garrison Chapel, Chelsea Barracks London SW1W 8BG.
On delivering my sculpt I got a glimpse of some of the other artists work that will be part of the exhibition - the quality was breathtaking!!! I am deeply humbled and honoured. Photography - @melbrownstudios

Today in 1973 the Aladdin Sane album was released. Last summer I got to meet @duffy_archive at the Bowie’s Beckenham Oddity. What an absolute honour! And so thrilled they loved this piece. Treasured memory❤️⚡️✨
