Feeling deep gratitude and love for my mom tonight as she mourns the passing of a dear friend. I’ve made countless mistakes - but she never gave up on me. She was the first visual artist I knew (and still the best in my mind), and I can’t imagine who I’d be without her. I never learned German, I couldn’t hold a marriage together, I’ve been selfish, I missed so many family events for gigs, I’m a single dad, my success has been hyperbolic, I’m often disagreeable and sometimes a jerk. Yet her love for me has never waned and I hope to carry such grace forward to my son. by @jdcryderman

Fabulous close to Lumenaura 2025! Huge thanks to: everyone from the @isp_chicago talent roster and crew - @monochronicle_network - @cityofaurorail - the indefatigable @charlie_otto_and_his_gear - and @georgeberlinart for support, ideas, hugs, visuals and lugging gear. Grateful for the opportunity to make magic and build community through engaging, imaginative art, music, movement, and light.

PS - thanks @iryna_kanishcheva and @charlaise for the soup! (The lasers were cool too 😎) taken in Aurora, Illinois by @jdcryderman

Final Weekend of Lumenaura!

Join us for a 4-hour live set by Chicago favorite Charlie Otto, founder of This Must Be the Band and DJ noDJ. Known for blending music and visuals in real time, Charlie’s solo project “charlie otto + his gear” turns every sound into a burst of light and motion — a mix of electronic beats, guitar riffs, and emotion.

Watch him this Saturday night alongside 15 interactive light installations from world-renowned artists before they’re gone. Don’t miss Aurora’s brightest finale!

Saturday, Oct 25, 6PM - 10PM
75 S Broadway, Aurora, IL and Downtown Aurora
