Choosing the hard way builds a distinct kind of grit. If you want to live an authentic life, you have to be willing to pay the physical tax. Take pride in the friction. Comfort breeds complacency, but the hard way builds character.

This stretch of New Mexico, the Sangre de Cristo Mountains on the edge of the Great Plains offered some great views and riding. For me going through places like this makes me understand just how small I am. To be among the vastness of these landscapes brings a sense of peace to my mind, body and spirit. It’s perspective that can only be gained from trips like this. Blessed to be living the life I have. 🖤⚡️🖤

October 2nd 2026.

Over Donner Summit, the pine gives way to sagebrush. After dodging potholes and road snakes through Reno, the pavement smooths out and the Great Basin opens up. Nothing but good road, dry lakebeds, and mountains that never seem to get any closer. Heat rolling off the asphalt, the motor cooking your legs, and plenty of stops along the way to get out of the sun and take it all in. I was in no real hurry to get anywhere. Just enjoying the miles, the empty country, and whatever catches my eye along the way. A couple gallons at a time, working my way home to Idaho. 🖤⚡️🖤

Ya know I think I learned more about myself during those weeks on the road than I had my entire 34 years of living. We get so consumed by the unnecessary that most of us forget life is for enjoying. Let go of the hate, doubt, and insecurity you carry in your heart, it makes this ride we call life much more enjoyable. Hope y’all having a good start to the week. I left a piece of my soul out on the Cuesta Grade. Riding the chopper through those hills felt like pure freedom. With the cold finally set to hit Kuna this weekend, I am already aching for that California warmth and the open road.
