The most necessary photo dump from the past week… Yasu’s new EK9 for him to cruise around in when he visits. Added a couple new upgrades to give it that Osaka flavor… Traded a set of Mugen Active Gate brakes for this Mugen Twin Loop exhaust and cut off the resonator… First-ever Exceed V2 lip for the 96-98 Civic landed Wednesday afternoon… Probably the lowest mileage DC2 Spoon Cluster in existence as of today… 🎵“Got a sweet Asian chick she go…”🎵 Nevermind that’s dumb. Jajangmyeon with Nana on a random night when we actually had time to have dinner together… Been sitting on this pair of Mugen S1 seats for a while now, and no I don’t really care that much about having the matching rails… Thank you Chuy for letting me use this for a weekend… $50 S2000 with $150 Mugen MF10… Gotta give love back to the ones that contributed… Found this Kakimoto GTZ1.0Z muffler in the trash at Exceed and brought it back home as a display years ago. Time to put it to use… Had to call @bbymole to make it happen 2 nights before show day… @obeast_speed_shop always coming through in the clutch… No more HKS exhaust with the extreme angle under the control arm. Kakimoto is nice and tucked away and it is a screamer… The every day cars getting some much needed love with a wash… Shop hangs because we finished early and stressed-less… Big car show guy now… Alternate universe Mugen set-up on my EK9… Wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for @jdmwong… Never thought I’d see the day when Yasu and I would have EK9s in California… Nana dipping in the S2000 too… FIN. taken in Los Angeles, California by @jdmwong

It’s not every day you get a lead on old SSR Super Mesh wheels so imagine my reaction when my good friend @cngo428 had a direct connection to someone who’d had a set garaged for 23 years. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity, and finally completed my wheel collection. But garage kept didn’t mean mint condition: it was 23 years worth of dirt caked on, but thankfully complete except for one locking key and the valve stem caps. Classic 90s specs: 15x6.5 +34 — TRUE 4x100 I didn’t want to fully restore them back to original condition. So I decided to swap the +21 barrels from the white window Super Mesh I had redone last year. @dude_its_kuyajay recommended @j_mendieta for the reconditioning/reassembly, great work and super friendly! Goes way harder with silver windows versus the white windows on these barrels! Falken tires back on with the help of @young.tea. All new silver hardware from @kingboltco really makes the wheels pop although it would’ve been cool to reuse the gold SSR hardware if they were in better condition. Had some NOS SSR seals for the original SSR valve stems. Used my cleaner Super Fin caps since they’re interchangeable. OG condition after sitting for 23 years. Spokes were filthy, some scuffing on the lips. taken in Los Angeles, California by @jdmwong

@993.reub’s 97 Porsche 911 C4S is the sort of car you’re more likely to see in SoCal instead of the Midwest. One of the few Euro entries at the recent @tuner_galleria, I was hooked at first sight because of the mismatched Regas/TEs (had to be @dpkjared), @sleepersspeedshop details, and oddly enough a Spoon Sports shift knob, something only a former Honda owner would do (the short shifter was retapped to M10x1.5mm Honda thread). Reuben found this rare Ocean Blue Metallic example after it sat for five years in dire need of repair work. All OG paint except a repainted front bumper/hood, but as a detailer, he spent 70hrs correcting the paint and removed 20 dents from the body; the whole undercarriage was also cleaned up with dry ice. A true standout at TG, the only car I stopped by repeatedly to look at, it received Best Euro honors. Jonathan "JDM" Wong remembers JR Cafe the way only a regular can. The nights when he couldn't afford to eat and they handed him free soup anyway. The security guy who always watched the cars like they were his own. The moment the cops walked in through a room full of smoke and everyone somehow kept a straight face going "we're not smoking," as if that was even a little convincing. @goodshow_aa is an enthusiast’s enthusiast, absolute Nissan fanatic in the best way. One of the first to rock @trakyoto’s Rocket Bunny Boss S14 kits, a project he kickstarted with a hand-drawn rendering that Miura-san loved because it looked nearly identical to a digital rendering he’d made—and the two hadn’t met or talked before. Insanely meticulous when it comes to the little details. Dedicated to the KA24, fully built with a Tomei turbo kit.
