The book trailer for Winterborne has arrived.

This is the most ambitious story I've ever set out to write. In an age where AI seeks to dominate the arts, I've strived to make this project as artistic and as human as possible. I've sketched, toiled, composed music, created symbols, and researched legends and politics more deeply than ever before.

For this trailer, @ferbersa.art and I spent weeks refining every detail of the animation, creating ice renderings of each character, and crafting an ambiance that invites you into the darkness, mystery, and intrigue of this frozen world.

Winterborne arrives August 11.

Celebrating the upcoming release of Winterborne alongside readers, family, and beloved friends who braved the sudden deluge.

These 85,000 words equate to three years of my life. Fiction and fantasy allow us to create societal mirrors, thus allowing us to see our world and its current ups and downs with more clarity and consciousness.

While Winterborne deals with themes such as identity, power, and darkness, I do believe it also reflects the ways we can all rise and own the power given to us through scars, grief, and consciousness.

Recently, this writer has been doing what writers do best: staring at a manuscript, obsessing over fictional people, making questionable artistic decisions, and then escaping to the Keys with the love of his life like none of it happened. 😂 Book two is taking shape. The characters are getting faces. Brooklyn is calling. And apparently piña coladas are part of the creative process now. 👀👀👀

Our freedoms live in the choices we make every day: the person we love openly, the books we read, the stories we tell, and the questions we dare to ask. As a queer author, I think about what it took for me to write honestly and for those words to find readers who recognize themselves in them. That visibility carries a history of people who risked far more so we could live with less fear. We know what it’s like to have our freedoms taken from us, and that memory carries a responsibility: to pay attention to whose voice is being silenced, whose story is being challenged, and whose freedom we are willing to defend.
