And to some big and exciting news: our production of FELLOW TRAVELERS will be coming to @bam_brooklyn Howard Gilman Opera House this April! What an honor it will be to share this important, and timely, story with NY audiences from that legendary stage. Turns out today is #WorldOctopusDay!

I identify as an octopus in many ways. I can happily spend an entire dive watching one… seeing it morph, camouflage, and absorb the energy around it. They are the only creature (besides humans) that decorate. They hold grudges and show their emotions. They get bored easily and love to cause havoc for their own entertainment. They are so much smarter than we give them credit for. ❤️

Summer feels like it slipped through my fingers in a haze of work (8 countries, 7 shows). But these photos remind me that I’m the luckiest person in the world to get to work and run around the world with my favorite people. And special shoutout to my forever bestie @theaeaslp for coming on the adventure with me! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ by @jeccabarry

THESE PEOPLE!!! They take my breath away with their magic, creativity, kindness, hilarity, and heart.

Happy Opening to our FELLOW TRAVELERS family!! What a journey has it been from designing scenery for this world premiere 10 years ago at @cincinnatiopera , to launching our National Tour tonight at @seattleopera, produced by @upuntilnowcollective. #fellowtravelers is an opera about a love affair between two men working for the U.S. government in 1950s Washington, D.C., set against the terror of the Lavender Scare, when suspected queer federal employees were interrogated, surveilled, and fired as “security risks.” The story shows how state-sponsored homophobia forces them to live double lives, pits love against fear and ambition, and weaponizes religion, patriotism, and morality to justify their persecution. No one should be persecuted for their love / their sexual orientation/ their gender. Period. TOI TOI TOI to the POWERHOUSE casts & the amazing crew! 🙌 @gregoryhspears Greg Pierce @kevinnewbury @jeccabarry @gzinsmeyer @devariosimmons Thomas Hasse @saraewidzer @joebeumer @freeland @michaelbennettlewis and may may more❣️ 📷@thisisdizzle @sunnymartini by @jeccabarry

Spent a week in my happy place, making new friends. No better way to close out a long, challenging, and very busy year. With all that’s going on it the world… I sure like being underwater better…

Here’s hoping for a brighter, lighter, sharky 2026!
