An incredible cooking class with Paulo @lefoodist! We started with a market visit, learning about how cheese, meat, and produce are categorized and their purveyors celebrated (and awarded!) here in France. Paulo shared many interesting facts of the connection between food and history/culture and his vast knowledge and personal background made him an excellent guide. For lunch, we made a leek and cauliflower soup, beef bourguignon, potato gratin, and poached pears with ganache, toasted almonds, and ice cream for dessert. Since I have a dairy allergy, he graciously made many alterations for me! There was wine, bread and great conversation:) (and new friends!) I moved to HNL on 6/27/18, with two suitcases and a dream to dance 🦋 I always get nostalgic around this time- birthday, new beginnings, and a reflection on direction. What needs to be shed, what needs to be cultivated, and what requires patience to bloom ⏳ Through COVID, a broken elbow, many flights, hours of dancing, diving back into art, pounds of poke, some writing (maybe more to come!) and the supportive communities that keep me sane and push me to grow…. I’m still kickin’ 🌱

Progress isn’t always linear 🌀
There are starts and stops, sometimes years between, moments of self-doubt, compassion, curiosity, joy.
Movement has always been my safe haven, but accepting all the parts of me and letting them shine- the spicy, the sassy, the silent, the silly…. Hasn’t always been easy and there are days I feel so uncomfortable in my own skin.
Huge shoutout to @heyrowshell for this incredible heels class. Its been a while since I’ve connected to this type of dance and it was refreshing, freeing, and so fun 💕⚡️
Maybe some new dance adventures to come this Summer 🙃 by @jeddiek
