San Francisco based concept artist and illustrator. I seem to mostly post figure drawings and cafe sketches here. Maybe I'll branch out someday.

Part 2 of my Hardly Strictly Bluegrass sketchbook tour: My Morning Jacket! I wasn’t too familiar with them going in, but it was a great set. Also tried to capture the various concert goers. The people watching is every bit as good as the music!

Brought my pocket-sized watercolor sketchbook to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass this year. It’s a great festival to try and capture the bands on stage, even if the results are a real mess. First up it’s Rilo Kiley, I’ve liked them for decades but never saw them until now. Got up real close too!

Can you guess the plot of last week's SWITCH/BOARD from these amazing on the spot storyboards by Jeff Lance? That's right, the screenplay is improvised, and Jeff can draw as fast as Nicole Odell and Sean Owens can talk!

There are only two more installments of SWITCH/BOARD left for the year, and they are sure to be still of (imaginary) blood!

Tomorrow, Monday October 12 we will bring you Call From Camp Bloodlake, and 80's camp slasher! 7pm at Stookey's Blue Room. Afterwards we will screen When a Stranger Calls. Grab your tickets now at the link in our bio! (Or else 🔪) taken in Stookey's Club Moderne by @jefflanceillustration

More sippin’ and sketchin’ at @specsbarsf ! I held off posting this one because I thought it was it maybe TOO sloppy, but it’s grown on me in the last few weeks. This one looks more finished in dim lighting, here you can see all the darks getting covered in gouache. “Hand of the artist” I’ll call it.

Sippin’ and sketchin’ at @specsbarsf ! I’m pretty loose on a couple frosty aquavits here, but I always seem to prefer the rougher drawings the next day.

Thank you to EnSeanté for bringing the fun of @fancypants_sf to @sketchboard.co ! Great character work as always! Dangerous work doing watercolor in barroom lighting, but I’m gonna keep at it…

Sketchboard is proud to present our final workshop of the year! With our bestie Jeff Lance, @jefflanceillustration whose work can be seen on our stickers and t shirts. He is an incredibly talented and stylish illustrator and we are so grateful to call a good friend.

🗓️ 10/04 & 10/11 @sinmiedo.gallery
🕡 11am to 3pm
📍 2831 Mission Street
🪑 All ages & skills level welcomed!
✏️ Supplies are included with workshop.

⛹🏽‍♀️ From Observation to Design Language. Stylization is not guesswork. It is a process of translating reality into a controlled visual language. This workshop is essential for artists interested in character design, animation, and games.

🫡 In this workshop, you will learn:
✍🏽 How to analyze the real figure and extract essential forms
✍🏽 How to develop anatomical shorthand that simplifies complexity
✍🏽 How to build a consistent design vocabulary across a character
✍🏽 How to balance exaggeration with structure
