POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I wrote an op-ed for the @startribune challenging current misconceptions about Haiti and reminding the world that Haitians, like all immigrants, are part of the American Dream. 🏡🇺🇸

My father fled Haiti in 1994 for a better life, and today, I’m leading multi-billion-dollar economic projects in America. 🇭🇹✨

We are more than then the harmful narratives spread. We are builders, innovators, and survivors who have been contributing to this country from day one—like the Haitian founder of Chicago, Jean Baptiste Point du Sable. 💼🏙️

Let’s push back on the rhetoric and lift up the truth. This is our story. This is our dream. 💪🏽

Above all, America is an idea. 🇺🇸

The idea that out of many, we are one. That every person has a God given right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

We have had a complex and challenging history with who gets to call themselves American and who gets to fully share in America’s promise.

Still, every generation gets the opportunity to move us closer to our highest ideals.

On America’s 250th anniversary, we are committed to bridging the distance between our present reality and the country we know is possible.

We all get to be American. And we get to shape the future, too.

America is an idea worth believing in and our collective vision is a future betting on!

Philanthropy is stepping up right now at a critical time when cuts are happening everywhere. Investing in bold ideas, local leaders, and new models for building wealth. This isn’t charity. It’s strategy. Because investing in our shared future means betting on the people and places that have too often been left out and are poised to shape our future. Let’s build what’s next together!

People will tell you your ambitions are too big.

Pay attention to the people who look at the same impossible dream and say:

“Nah. We’re thinking too small.”

✨ 40 Under 40 ✨

Faith. Sacrifice. Legacy.
Thirteen years later, I returned to the campus and HBCU that changed my life.

The moment my feet touched the ground, everything came rushing back. The hunger. The hope. The faith. The people who believed in me when all I had was a dream.

Being named one of @oakwoodu 40 alumni under 40 is more than an honor. It is a testimony of grace, of sacrifice, and of what faith can build when you refuse to quit.

Oakwood was where I met my wife.
Where I learned to lead as Chief of Staff for Student Government.
Where I directed a research program before I even had a degree.
And where I found my voice, standing before a thousand people for the very first time.

During those four years my mom did not buy herself a single dress. My parents gave everything they had to my education, even after losing our home in 2009.

When it was time to graduate, I was eighteen hundred dollars short.
UNCF stepped in with an emergency scholarship that helped me walk across that stage.

My story is filled with people who took a bet on me.

That is why this honor hits deep. Especially being recognized during the first year of Dr. Gina Spivey Brown’s presidency, Oakwood’s first Woman President in one hundred and twenty nine years. Her leadership reminds me that excellence, faith, and humility can move mountains.

Oakwood’s motto says, Enter to learn, depart to serve.

And that is what I have tried to do ever since. Serve God. Serve community. Serve humanity.

As my family and I pray about what’s next and how best to serve this country we love, I am reminded that leadership is not about titles. It is about service, sacrifice, and the courage to build something greater for others.

This recognition belongs to every teacher, mentor, and family member who saw potential before success.

Next Alumni Weekend we plan to pay it forward with a tangible gift so another student can walk across that same stage and chase their dream too🙏🏿

I’m thrilled to share some incredibly exciting news with all of you today! 🌟 I have been appointed as the Implementation Co-Lead for the GroundBreak Coalition, focusing on Entrepreneurship, Commercial Development, and Homeownership—pillars that I believe are foundational in creating unprecedented opportunities for wealth building especially for communities that have been historically left out.

Joining this coalition means collaborating with some of the brightest and most dedicated minds in philanthropy, banking, business, non-profit, and community development. The scope and scale of what we’re embarking on, with a $5.3 billion national effort, is nothing short of historic.

I am deeply humbled and filled with gratitude for the visionary leaders and tireless advocates who have come together to make this possible. This role is a profound responsibility, and I am committed to contributing my all to our shared mission of transforming lives and communities.

As we step forward into this journey, I am reminded that change is not just a concept, but an action we must undertake together. Let’s roll up our sleeves and continue to change the world, one step at a time. 💪💼🌍

In America, you should be able to afford the life you’re working so hard to build!

I’m Jeff Aguy, CEO of Betting On US. My work connects the decisions made about money and power to the possibilities people have in their everyday lives.

I’ll show you how those decisions happen and bring you into our work to build an America people can afford to believe in.
