Our people are worth the investment. Our future is worth building together.

Last month, Betting On US proudly collaborated with @bmecommunity on Next Narrative Twin Cities, presented by Best Buy and Greater Twin Cities United Way.

An incredible experience partnering with one of the country’s premier leadership development organizations, Trabian Shorters, creator of Asset Framing, and fellow BMe cofounders Ben Carlton and Sarah Multidor. Their work reminds us to begin with people’s aspirations, contributions, and extraordinary potential.

Special gratitude to the visionaries behind this gathering: Shannon Smith Carter, Chief Impact Officer at Greater Twin Cities United Way, and Olivia Jefferson, Executive Director of the Best Buy Foundation and Vice President of Social Impact at Best Buy.

Thank you for bringing national thought leadership and local ambition together. This collaboration reflects the future we are working to build.

We are Betting On US.

An opportunity can change your life. But first, you have to know it exists.

PSEO changed mine. It lets eligible high school students earn college credit tuition-free, yet too many never hear about it.

When schools, colleges, employers, and communities work together, we can connect young people to their strengths, meaningful careers, and Minnesota’s future.

My latest article is out in @minnpost . Link in bio.

Did someone open this door for you? Pass it on to a student or parent who needs to know.

Ever tried to change something that feels way bigger than you?

Economic strategist and global innovator, Jeff Aguy, explains why real change isn’t just about tearing down a broken system, it’s about building something better that can actually replace it. His message is a powerful reminder for entrepreneurs and leaders that people can debate ideas all day, but when they create something that delivers real results, those results speak for themselves.

Watch Courageous New Start this Thursday (8/20/2026) and hear Jeff Aguy share a different way to think about leadership, entrepreneurship, and creating change that actually lasts.

Are you ready to bet on yourself?

Jeff Aguy, Founder & CEO of Betting On US joins us for a conversation about courage, creating change, and believing in what you’re capable of building. As Jeff puts it, his mom taught him, “You’re either like that or you’re not,” and that mindset has helped shape the way he approaches leadership, innovation, and his work with Betting On US.

Watch Courageous New Start this Thursday (8/20/26 and hear a conversation that just might challenge you to ask yourself: Are you ready to bet on you?

The thing you’re building may feel small today, but it could have the potential to create change far beyond what you see?

Jeff Aguy, Founder & CEO of Betting On US brings a unique perspective shaped in part by growing up in Haiti. In this country, innovation was often about finding solutions with what was available.

In this conversation, Jeff gets real about building better systems, making your work visible, bringing people together, and why entrepreneurs shouldn’t underestimate the impact of what they’re creating. Come and hear why your idea may be more powerful than you think.

A teacher in more ways than one. ✨

Grateful to attend the Black Men Teach Gold Star Gala an evening centered around resilience, impact, and celebrating Black men who continue to lead, teach, mentor, and pour into the next generation.

Add in celebrating a good friend’s birthday, great people, and even better energy… definitely a night well spent. 🥂⭐️

What if we’ve been asking young people the wrong question all along?

For generations, we’ve asked, “How smart are you?”

At @catalystforsystemschange , we ask a different question:

“How are you smart?”

That shift changes everything.

The greatest barrier to lasting change isn’t a lack of potential. It’s a lack of meaningful responsibility.

Too often, we ask young people to wait their turn. We tell them they’re the leaders of tomorrow while excluding them from the decisions that shape today.

We believe there’s a better way.

At Catalyst for Systems Change, we don’t simply help young people find their voices. We help them use those voices to write legislation, influence public policy, build partnerships across communities, and solve real problems alongside adults.

This year’s legislative victories didn’t happen by accident. They happened because young people weren’t invited to observe democracy. They were trusted to shape it.

Our work is rooted in an intergenerational framework where wisdom is shared, lived experience is honored, and leadership is transferred through meaningful responsibility. When generations work together, we don’t just prepare young people for the future. We build a better future together.

Potential doesn’t change the world.

Meaningful responsibility does.

As Denzel Washington once said, “Use what you have to help others. You can’t take it with you, but you can leave it here.”

That is the legacy we’re working to build.

The next generation doesn’t need another seat at the kids’ table.

They need a seat where decisions are made.

So I’ll leave you with one question:

Who are you trusting with meaningful responsibility today?
