I love running! 😊 This training season was by far my best ever, felt super strong, lifted weights, nutrition locked in, and balanced all of it with being a raver and regular human! And then…

And then I twisted my ankle pretty bad at my favorite festival… younger versions of me would have hated the world and been down on myself all the way to the race but not this time. I took it in stride (lol, at least for the most part), I wouldn’t have traded Lost Lands for anything EVEN KNOWING I’d get hurt.

I couldn’t really train much after that for the month leading up to the race, but still showed up on race day and made this shit happen! IT WAS NOT PRETTY! No PRs! But it didn’t have to be, I told myself if I have to walk the whole thing I was finishing and with cramps all the way up and down both legs I did it!

Life isn’t easy, running a marathon isn’t easy but ya know what… I’m pretty strong so it doesn’t have to be easy!😁🎉 #mcm #medalmonday #marinecorpmarathon #lostlands #semperfi by @jeffreycooper_

Making some changes in my life!

Change is the only constant and we are undergoing a big one at NoDa Run Club! Our leader Jeff Cooper is stepping down from his position and will no longer be leading us. He's been with us for just over a year and half and we are sorry to see him go, but we know he won't be going too far!

From Jeff: "Just to start, I write the social posts so this is technically all from me. It has been an honor leading this Run Club, the first Brewery Run Club in CLT. I've loved being able to introduce people to running and having the opportunity to give back to the running community that has taken me in. Not to mention all of the friends I've made! A huge thank you to everyone that supports the run club, and I hope you will show the next leaders of the club that same support. Thanks everyone!" (jumping back to 3rd person)

Of course the Run Club will not be without a leader and what's better than one leader? Two! Heather Semmens and Zach Colburn will be taking over the leadership of NoDa Run Club starting Sunday, August 13th! If you've been coming to run club you know they are Ambassadors, so we are in good hands!
