Certe cose il tempo fatica a cancellarle, semplicemente le trasforma. È quello che succede nel lavoro di Jeff Wallace, dove i ricordi non si fermano mai: affiorano, si stratificano, attraversano la luce. Tra New York e Lecce, il suo sguardo si muove tra due respiri, uno più veloce, l’altro più profondo, per sentire e trattenere il mondo in perfetta sincronia. Un lavoro che nasce da un gesto semplice e delicato: raccogliere ciò che resta. Pagine consumate, lettere, fotografie, frammenti di vite che portano con sé una presenza silenziosa. Wallace li accoglie, li attraversa, li trasforma, restituendo loro una nuova forma. In Puglia, questo processo si fa ancora più lento, più attento. Tra carta e ceramica, il suo lavoro si prende cura di ciò che resta. Sono felice di averlo intervistato per il nuovo numero di Amazing Puglia, da oggi in edicola e in libreria.

Meet Jeff Wallace ✨

Jeff Wallace transforms found and weathered books into tactile sculptural works that explore memory, time, and the fading of personal stories. Working across sculpture, collage, portraiture, and mixed media, Wallace reshapes books and ephemera, allowing their histories to overlap, dissolve, and become something new.

In the works featured in Immensity of Blue, Wallace uses faded blues and sun-bleached yellows to evoke water-worn surfaces and long afternoons under relentless light, as though the books themselves had drifted ashore.
Jeff Wallace’s work is on view in Immensity of Blue at Jane Lombard Gallery through this Friday, August 14th.
