And then one day, the past became the present. A gift. Just beyond the railroad tracks, same as before. This time it led to big hugs, luxury handbags, wild ocean, new friends, fine wine and roaring laughter, set among stories older than old. (Plumb Bob Ringo IYKYK). I share this because I ran from my past. Long and hard enough to heal. So that when it did find me again, I was strong enough to embrace it. Now I’m sure I’m moving forward nicely. That’s right. I had a birthday in a wet suit. With some badass women and killer surf coaches around me. If you knew how often and long I dreamed of this life you would have thought it would never happen. I thought it would never happen. But I am a proud late-bloomer.
