This morning’s sunrise was so magnificent it almost took my breath away. I stopped along Grizzly Peak and backed up to get out of the car and take it in (and snap some pictures). The deep glowing red lasted for less than 5 minutes. Grata per questi giorni insieme (e per la pazienza con il mio italiano… Undici anni di pratica del mio italiano (progressi… lenti, ma migliorano quando sono qui 😅).
E soprattutto: grazie Barbara e Gianni per il risotto, le lasagne, e la torta di riso reggiana fatta come si deve — completa di Sassolino “importato” 🍰✨
Tradizioni italiane + tradizioni americane (biscotti decorati e luci del quartiere un po’ folli) = feste perfette, a modo nostro.

Grateful for these days together and for the patience with my Italian… Eleven years into my Italian practice (progress: slow 😅, but noticeably better when they’re here).
And — thank you Barbara and Gianni for the risotto, lasagna, and the Reggio Emilia–style torta di riso made the real way… complete with imported Sassolino 🍰✨

Loved seeing this beautiful compilation from the super-talented
@brypenney.photo — she has a true gift for capturing people’s essence and making being in the spotlight (or in front of the lens) feel relaxed and natural.

A huge thank you to @brittanybrownbeauty for the beautiful hair and makeup - she made me feel like a queen the entire day.

Bry just shared this sneak peek from our shoot in LA last month, and it was so great collaborating with her again.

New professional images are on the way and taking a moment to celebrate Liminal Space, my executive coaching and leadership development practice,
which is now entering its fifth year.

Feeling deeply energized as we head into 2026.

I’m continually inspired by the clarity, courage, and growth of the leaders and teams I have the privilege to work with.

This morning’s sunrise 7:02 → 7:06 a.m. 🌄

The Minarets lit up like fire in the first light — a few breathtaking minutes of alpenglow before the day began.

One of the benefits of sharing life with @itnok is having a good reason to search out beautiful places and have a great incentive to get up before the crack of dawn.

This was my brother’s Christmas gift.

Not a thing, but an experience.
An appointment I researched carefully,
because I wanted someone who would really see him.
(And check his eyes, of course.)

Life has been full. Full of love, full of responsibility, full of everything.
But if you know me right now, you know:
health—mine, and the people I care about—is always top of mind.

So we finally made it happen.
And when I walked into the waiting room and saw this on the wall,
I smiled.

See the beauty that is all around you.

Yep.
We were in the right place.

🌟 Support After the Eaton Fire 🌟

This week, the Eaton Fire and windstorm devastated Altadena, destroying nearly 14,000 acres of homes, schools, and community spaces. Among those affected were my brother Ryan, sister-in-law Victoria, and their two little ones (1.5 and 4 years old), who lost their home—just a month after becoming first-time home owners.

Their dreams for a safe and happy home for their family have been turned upside down. Now, they’re starting from scratch, alongside countless others in their beloved neighborhood.

We're raising funds to help Ryan and Victoria recover and support our family and community through this challenging time.

💔 I never thought I’d organize a GoFundMe for this reason, but this one hits so close to home.

***We are deeply touched by the kindness and generosity of so many compassionate friends, family, colleagues, and community members. Your donation means more than we can express—it’s not just financial help but a profound reminder of the strength and support within this community.
Victoria’s parents, who are still evacuated and staying in a hotel (an update from our last message), have met firefighters from Mexico who have traveled here to assist in the firefighting efforts and are also staying at their hotel. This incredible teamwork and solidarity, extending across borders, is a testament to the care pouring in from so many places. Meanwhile, our cousins in Washington state shared that their local firefighters are in Los Angeles, joining the efforts to protect and support impacted communities. We’ve also learned of assistance coming from many U.S. states, Canada, and even as far away as South Africa. We are deeply grateful by @jencontidavies
