Sharing something I’ve been working on behind-the-scenes — @slantdcreative is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit!!!🦋🎉

For the past few months, I have been leading the development of our first programs (to launch in 2024), as an AAPI nonprofit publishing house. I joined the Slant’d team in 2020 to lead social, and am truly grateful for the trust from the team to pivot and build in this new chapter 🌼💖

As you may know, Slant’d has been fully volunteer-run org for 6+ years — and we’re so excited to be laying the foundation of our new nonprofit. Donations are always welcomed through my personal link in LIB.

Slant'd has and always will be a community project. Thank you for being vital part of our journey.

@urbanglass_nyc ARTIST RESIDENCY UPDATE + PHOTO CAROUSEL + LIFE QUESTIONS DUMP 🧯🕸️🐜

How do I document my first artist residency but also fully be present in the creation process? And how much time does it really take to settle my laptop-email inbox-work brain before that sweet spark of creativity kicks in at the studio?

OR is the compulsion to mind untangle personal + work knots just an inevitable human experience during a meditative art practice? Or meditation in general? Is art, therapy? (yess.)

And is that why I’m always in and out of unexpected emotions during long studio hours, or is it just life right now, or is it the pull of the full moon?

Personal storytelling is transformative, but how do you actually write like no one will ever read it?

Join us Wed, June 24 at Welcome to Chinatown as we celebrate our friend and author @lydia_pang_’s debut memoir, “Eat Bitter,” with an evening of connection, writing, and exploration into how to exhume and define your inner story.

What inspires my style recently is shopping less; rewearing favorite pieces in new ways using layering and playing with color and silhouettes. Also I have a few friends/neighbors that openly share our closet and accessories and it’s been such a fun and community-building thing to borrow from friends again.”

(more than) SPOOKY: SNAP benefits for 42 million of our neighbors are suspended for the 1st time in history 🤮🤮 Something nyc-themed, something scary (everything is scary), something craft-forward = my version of the @inciardimachines mini print machine for Halloween.
