I don’t know why I’ve felt so embarrassed to post about the show I was in last weekend.
Probably because I practiced so hard but was still unable to do some of the elements.
I’m also a pretty weak skater even after a year and half of two-to-three days a week of work.
But you know what, I did it! I put myself out there. I made some amazing friends along the way and those friends asked me if I would come back for The Nutcracker this winter.
That still remains to be seen. 😅
Anyway, parts of the video my sister took of my performance are in my stories. Watch them if you enjoy feeling second-hand cringe.
I posted Maddie’s performance as well. She’s beautiful and such a graceful skater! by @jenniefire

22 years ago, Cordell and I were sealed in the Mt. Timpanogos temple.
This weekend we had a little getaway in College Station.
It was poetic in a lot of ways. We met at USU, an Aggie school, and we spent the weekend in Aggieland.
We did a lot of things we did on our first date—hang out at the student center, have ice cream, and watch a movie.
To take it one step further, we saw Freakier Friday. 22 years ago, we saw Freaky Friday on our honeymoon.
It was really the perfect weekend, and I’m so grateful to have this wonderful supportive man in my life.
Love you forever, babe! 😘 by @jenniefire

Almost a week after leaving LA, and I’m still floating on cloud nine.
Seeing BTS is always worth it, and I’m so grateful I was not only able to go, but to have excellent seats for two nights.
RM even saw my sign and acknowledged me.
I got a video from someone else, but it’s not great. (I might post it anyway.)
More than that, it was so nice to hang out with friends, eat lots of delicious Korean food, and see my brother-in-law and his wife.
I’ve been hesitant to post, because it’s so pretty in my memory I almost feel like posting will ruin it. 😅.
But, as this is one of my journals, I want to record the happy time to look back on the future when life gets hard, as it inevitably will.
Thank you to the amazing friends who came with me! You all are the best. Borahae forever! 💜💜💜 by @jenniefire

The last day I spent with my mom was her birthday. She was in the hospital, paralyzed from her aneurism.

But, BTS had released a song that day and my sister and I played it for her. She tapped her one foot to the music and squeezed my sister’s hand on the side of her body that worked.

Although I wouldn’t call it my favorite BTS song, I felt like the title was a message from my mom. That I had the Permission to Dance even as she left this world.

Tonight I got to see BTS in the same city I saw them last, eight years ago. My mom went to the same tour with me and I was really wishing she could be there tonight.

When they played Permission to Dance as the first random song I started crying. It was like she was smiling right at me.

I barely got tickets, so my seats were not good, but I’m going to see them again with better seats in LA.

It was nice to just enjoy the show without feeling the need to take any videos because I would have other opportunities.

Although when some of the boys came out in cowboy hats I had to film that. I’ll post the couple videos I took in my stories. It was the most wonderful weekend with my daughter and bestie Stephanie Cameron.

One other huge thank you to my aunt Elise from opening her home to us so we could do this.

Its been five years since my mom passed. My sister came up with the brilliant idea of holding a memorial in her honor.

We gathered as a family last Saturday on the anniversary and did what she loved most, had a big party!

Afterwards we visited her grave and told stories about her.

It’s hard to express how much my soul was filled as we came together to honor her the same way she would do for us.

I miss her every day, but her influence on me will last forever.

I’m positive she’s my guardian angel now, as well as the angel for many others.

Thank you to all the family who came out! It really meant the world to me, and I was so happy I got to se you all.

Much love, Janeen Brink Thompson ❤️❤️❤️ by @jenniefire

Now that I’m about to leave for Utah today, I’m finally going to post about another favorite day in California!

I feel like Sequoia national Park is often overlooked. Yosemite is more beautiful for sure, but this park had an absolute magic to it as well.

It’s in the same mountain range, but the parks give different vibes.

We enjoyed playing Twilight here (see my reels) and being around all the big trees. This park had a lot less people than Yosemite and the hiking trails weren’t as intense.

We still found a great swimming hole with a natural waterslide. (Video in stories)

The one picture at the end was the beginning of our trip when we hung out with my brother and sister-in-law. We went to the beach with them and had such a great time!

Truly a wondrous trip! I miss it, especially the weather! by @jenniefire

We asked Austin (@the.real.peter.b.parker) what he wanted to do for his High School graduation trip.

Since it’s such an important milestone we told him no where in the world was off limits, we truly wanted to make it a memorable experience.

He said he didn’t care where in the world we went, as long as there were mountains. My mind instantly went to Yosemite National Park in California.

My parents took me a few times as a kid, and I’ve truly never witnessed the type of natural beauty you can find here.

Every day we would do a hike in the morning then take the warm afternoon to swim in beautiful, clear, and cold water.

The whole place feels like a fantasy novel. If I could live there and soak up the nature on a daily basis, I would seize the opportunity in a heartbeat.

I didn’t have my phone this day so there aren’t many pictures, but days without a phone in nature can be blessing to the mind and body. I miss it so much! by @jenniefire

Why is it that whenever I post a video or picture of me that shows my belly, I get all these messages about a new health and wellness solution? 🙄
I’ve literally had a protruding belly since the moment I was born. Even at my skinniest, my belly sticks out. THIS IS MY BODY.
I’ve had eating disorders, and I’ve been on a GLP for over a year. Dieting doesn’t help. I’ve about killed myself with Keto Flu several times in my life.
I ice skate three times a week, walk my dog morning and night, and eat tons of protein, fruits, and vegetables.
I actually have somewhat defined abs because of the workouts I do as well.
All these “health and wellness” pyramid schemes are honestly so offensive.
They hurt my mental health so deeply.
If you ever ask me to join your program, you will be blocked immediately. 🫡

Today was a day of firsts!

1. It was my first time seeing a bear in the wild.

Not only that, but we saw 3, maybe 4 bears (one may have been the same bear twice.)

Even better was seeing a mama bear and her cub play!

(I’ll put some video of the bears, and pictures of other wildlife and scenery in my stories.)

2. It was my first time watching a squirrel try to snatch my trail mix right off the table.

Some of the animals here are really demanding. A squirrel bit Austin yesterday. They’re literally like cats and will come running at the sound of a package opening!

3. My first time getting stung by a scorpion.

Not the best first but at least I found out I’m not allergic to this one! The pain went away after a couple of hours. It happened in the kitchen of our AirBNB. Barefoot lesson learned.

One more story that was so fun: My dad found a paddle in some debris stuck in the river by the bridge we were swimming in.

A couple came floating by in a double tube and we asked if they wanted it. They said yes.

We threw it a little too far away and they were doing their best to get it.

As we watched them struggling we decided to start cheering as if it was a sporting event. “Go. Go. Go!”

The guy got his legs out of the tube and began to kick with all his might. The girl put both her arms in front and pulled them to the paddle.

When they finally got it we were cheering, shouting, and jumping as the girl held the paddle in the air.

People are so awesome!

P.S. I’ll post the trip backwards over the next few days. I’m going to miss California. 🩷 by @jenniefire
