Emerald Shadow Golden Whisper is a Robin Hood retelling by @jenniefire . For someone who loves Robin Hood, this romantasy was such a fun twist on the classic story! Mia, Maid Amelia Marian, has always felt a connection to Sherwood Forest much preferring to spend her time beneath the trees than in court where the Sheriff begins to seek her courtship. Ronan, Robin Hood, has a magical perception that helps as he and his band of men steal from the rich and give back to the poor. With a common enemy whose power neither of them quite understand, Mia and Ronan learn to trust each other and embark on a quest to save England and answer some other magical questions along the way. After the last chapter, I was excited to discover that this is the first in a series! I cannot wait to see what adventures they go on next!

I am listening to my first Romantasy and I am here for it! Emerald Shadow, Golden Whisper is a Robin Hood Romantasy and I think it’s the perfect book for dipping my toes into this new genre. There are enough similarities to the Robin Hood story I’m familiar with that I’m not completely lost in a whole new world, but this is very much its own story. There are little nods and familiar moments woven throughout, but the magical elements, new plot lines, and higher stakes make it feel like something completely different.🏹💚

Robin Hood was my favorite Disney movie growing up, and my childhood heart is absolutely giddy listening to Robin Hood and Maid Marian interact. ☺️💕 He is so swoony and protective while she is strong and spirited. Their quick wit and sharp banter have me grinning ridiculously and kicking my feet. I can’t wait to see how this story plays out.

Another day of playing dress up in Korea! This time, in wearing Queen hanbok (again from @daehan_hanbok ). This is the photoshoot after the photoshoot - mainly in the Secret Garden of Changdeokgung Palace. Wa... it is stunning!! You have to buy tickets, which are limited, and then you are rewarded with low crowds and stunning visuals!! We also happened on "The Observatory" - an old grandma's hanok home. She invites you to her upper story garden room (for 3,000 won - almost nothing) and makes you a glass of lemonade. It was so charming and a wonderful experience! Not pictured is the hilarious cab ride where I directed the driver by saying, "go, go, yes, over there, go, over there, yes, (pointing where to turn), yes, go, go, go, here (all in excellent zkorean)!" We celebrated when we arrived, and then he body checked me out of the front seat onto the sidewalk. I thought he was having fun. But I guess he had had enough.
