Part of me wonders how we got here. The other part of me feels like there’s never been a moment without you. You are brave, passionate, ambitious and smart. You love your people and always seem to find ways to keep everyone together and happy. You love a goodnight cuddle. You know you have your daddy wrapped around your finger. You love soccer, volleyball and gymnastics. You love a good foot rub and you’re very tender and protective with your deep down emotions. You are hilarious and your timing with one liners & jokes is uncanny. You are bound for BIG things my baby girl. Watch out world because the book of her life has just begun. Back at it! A whole week of 5th & 7th grade @charlestoncollegiate in the books. Unsure how we got here, but these kiddos are thriving and love their sweet school so much. We do too! The whole evening is still integrating, but the first ceremony out on our land needed a permanent place on my feed. It’s been an idea, a desire, a yearning for quite some time now. “We didn’t know we were ready.”

Thank you to the beautiful souls who showed up to make this very first (of many) sacred ceremonies so incredibly special. It would not have been the same without all of you. The universe always gives you exactly what you need if you’re listening. I’d been running lately. “We didn’t know we were ready.”

July 17. 2025 marked 20 years of marriage for me and this guy @curtismitchell8068

And yes, for this anniversary reel I chose a song that’s lyrics represent heart break and a relationship amiss. However, for me, these lyrics represent something else entirely. This song played while we sat by the pool in New Orleans @blackbirdnola and the vibe and the energy between us was reminiscent of those early days in our relationship. It was free and sensual. It was connected and easy. It was present. Time was moving slow😉. This week gave me so much. It was a lifetime of actions and nothingness all at the same time.

We sat by the pool and read our books. We went to see live music and danced like we were the only ones in the room (and sometimes we were). We ate delicious food. We visited sensational museums. We ran, had massages and did yoga. We rested and we loved. Most importantly, we let the wind carry us. It took us to places where the city life was hard and rough. People were suffering and also expressing themselves. There was art and grit. We were surprised by the big city feel of New Orleans. It was also refreshing to see people BE whoever they wanted to BE. The culture was rich and acceptance was given. We were rich in love and the remembrance of US. Cheers to 20 years and many more to come my love💛💛. I will remember for this trip for eternity. Time flies and also slows. The years fly by and the days are stretched, yet there aren’t enough hours in the day. So very strange how all are true, yet here we are. I really try to savor the moments and sometimes I’m caught in the grind. I need help, why won’t they ask, do they think I’m their maid, manners, kindness…. Woah, did I just actually say or do the very thing I’m asking them not to? I am always reminding myself (and them too) that we all get to mess up and make mistakes along the way. The true gem here, is what do we do next? I sure hope these chats, connections, hugs, coaching and parenting moments are truly penetrating the surface. Only time will tell. I hope for the best and trust that I’m doing the best I can each and every day. I love these two immensely and I sure hope they see and believe in themselves. I hope they are kind. I hope they stand up for self and others. I hope they value their worth and also the worth of others. I hope they live in love and share the sweetness of the world. Go get ‘em my 4th & 6th graders. @charlestoncollegiate
