Thank you @wallpapermag for covering the Mendocino House!

“Set on a rolling hilltop at the northwest edge of the Russian River watershed, the 2,025 sq ft two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom home – with its clean, geometric modernist lines – feels more like an extension of the land than a juxtaposition to it.”

Thank you to everyone who joined us at last week’s Summer Social at our SF office! Leading up to last Thursday’s festivities, we flew in our remote team members to gather as a studio to share and connect. We’re grateful for this incredible group, the fresh perspectives everyone brings to the table, and the bright future we’re building side by side. taken in San Francisco, California by @jensen_architects

Explore how water influences community, landscape, and architecture in this quarterly edition of our newsletter

From Pacific breakers to winding rivers to snowpack high in the Sierra, from drought-dry summers to El Nino–drenched winters, water is a constant source of delight, consternation, and conversation in California. As we dive into summer, water is on the mind of Jensen’s design team. It’s an essential element in our architecture, as a way to cool down, bring people together, and to connect to the landscape.

We're honored to have the Alamo Square Residence featured in Living Heritage: Modern Interiors in Old-Town Homes, a beautifully curated book showcasing exceptional historic homes from around the world. The book celebrates projects that thoughtfully balance architectural heritage with contemporary living, highlighting inspiring examples of adaptive reuse and restoration.

Our featured project, "A House with Two Faces," reimagines a neglected Victorian in San Francisco's Alamo Square, blending meticulous historic preservation with a bold, sculptural contemporary addition to create a home that is both rooted in its past and designed for modern family life. We're proud to be included alongside such an inspiring collection of projects. by @jensen_architects

We are excited to announce that we have received an award from The American Institute of Architects!

This award honors India Basin Waterfront Park, in San Francisco. This important project was guided by a community-developed Equitable Development Plan (EDP), making it one of only a few parks in the nation to use such a framework. The plan was the result of a two-year community-driven process specifically designed to prevent "green displacement" and ensure the park's development directly uplifts the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood.

Our project and firm were honored at this year's AIA Awards Gala at #AIA26!
