This was the first birthday I experienced a bit of existential dread. Not because I care about looking older, or that I don’t think I’ve achieved enough or am chasing some ambition. But because time really is a thief and I really wish I had more of it. My kids are what lights me up these days and while I’m privileged to be aging and watching them grow alongside me, sometimes I really just want to freeze time. My 40th birthday weekend was one of those weekends. Just my little family and our two dogs and lots of fun and adventure and memories and jokes that will keep me smiling for the next decade to come. #adirondacks #thisis40 by @jentystik

Friday night deadlifts 4x5 @ 70%. Moving my programming around and these will now be on Mondays so they don’t conflict with “long” run days which are now Saturday. So many moving pieces. Happy 13th birthday, Bingo. From a stray on the streets of Oakland, California, to a kill shelter on the euthanize list, to a rescue in Dixon, and then to our apartment in Sacramento…all the way now to upstate New York, with two human brothers who love you so much but also never give you personal space. You barked every time our kids cried as babies and yet you’ve also adjusted beautifully to being part of a bigger family. We’re grateful every day for your loyalty. You’re always up for an adventure. And we always can count on you to defend the home from mailmen, neighbors, and other dogs big and small. Love you, Bingy Bing. by @jentystik
