MEET THE BOOKSTAGRAMMER ☀️

I’ve had an influx of followers and I thought it best to create a HELLO, it’s me post as it’s been an age…

🐞 My name is Suzi, I’m 34 and a mum of two CRAZY boys Jenson (7) and Enzo (4).

🐞 I started this account for fun back in the days to basically show my love for Christmas books and my obsession with #bookvent my insta pals called me the queen of Christmas and that’s basically how I started getting PR from the amazing publishers I work with. I love nothing more than getting books into my own children’s hands and the children around me (school, friends and volunteering at my son’s school).

🐞 I’m a teacher - currently across ks1, lks2 and uks2. My mat cover position ends in five weeks after two glorious years in a school that I actually did my NQT year in! I don’t want to leave but one of those things! I love nothing more than taking my books into class and getting everyone reading!

🐞 Last January I set myself a reading challenge and basically now I’m deep in books about fantasy and convincing every single person I meet to read Fourth Wing by @rebeccayarros - it’s a wonderful pastime and I’m sure people on here will attest to the fact that I’ve made their lives all the more better for it! 🤣 I share my adult stuff over on @suzi_bookshelf so come play!

🐞 I love love love connecting with authors and illustrators. I’ve met some really great people at book launches and just sliding into DMs! I literally get so excited to chat to the people that create books (including the publishers). I’m like a big kid at Christmas when I get shiny packages and invites 🤣

🐞 I love to garden - @miraclegrouk was my biggest (unbeknownst to them) sponsor for my green grass for years before I started this venture - my mum pals always used to laugh at my #miraclegro tags when Jenson used to rep different clothes 🤣 #mumlife

Yeh that’s basically me in a nutshell - Christmas books, Romantasy, gardening, teaching and a LOAD of mum life..

Jekyll Vs Hyde - The Potion Of Doom
@jmeggittphillips
@swain_holly

Feeling so very lucky to have a proof of this one… what a funny story perfect for spooky season! I’ve had the best time reading this (and thinking about how much my current class will love this). I can’t wait to see how this series develops - I deffo want another!! Taking this to class tomorrow and I’ll be back soon to let you know their thoughts!

Blurb:
Spoiled young Henrik Jekyll has been left his ancestor Dr Jekyll’s house, laboratory, and ― most importantly ― secret, life-altering Hyde Potion recipe. Henrik’s curiosity soon leads him down a dark path, unleashing a chaotic alter ego named Eddie. With Eddie’s strength and mischief wreaking havoc in the local town, Henrik must confront the consequences of his reckless actions. Can he learn to control his inner Hyde before it’s too late, or will he succumb to the chaos? And what darkness lurks in the foundations of Jekyll Manor itself?

Big thanks to @farshorebooks for sending this our way.

The Story Orchestra - Alice’s adventures in Wonderland
Illustrated by @jctickle

We absolute adore this range and we’re so excited that one of fave stories has come to the Story Orchestra.
With music by Joby Talbot, this gorgeously illustrated version is full of lots to spot and hear. I love how this range just draws you in with a story to music and it’s wonderful to share with my little squishies. This series truly make such wonderful gifts. Swipe to hear some of the beautiful sounds 🎶

We have loved the spot the poo range in our house for a long time, so we were so excited to read the graphic novel. Too much fun to be had with this pooptastic book! We’ve had a great time reading this silly tale and even the students at school have managed to see just how silly this comic style book is. Swipe to see there’s gunna be a Christmas one!! You know I’m ALL over this 🧑🏼‍🎄 💩

Blurb:

Join Elvis, Queenie, Bobbi and Duckie on their poop-tastic adventures as they try and track down the Magic Unicorn Poo and save the world from turning into a MASSIVE POO!"

When you’re a teacher and Bookstagrammer with your own kids, it becomes impossible to pry the books out of your own children’s hands to go to school 🤣

Proud of J for letting me steal some of the books and take them in for the class I’m covering. He was also kind enough to let one of the kids borrow his Pablo and splash (that one has to come back haha)!

Serial Chillers
@jennifer.killick.56
@farshorebooks

Three spooky tales headed into class to get our spook on ready for Halloween.

This series is just giving off all the goosebump vibes, building tension and horror in all the right places. I love how one place just seems to have ALL the drama and spookiness - Hazard sounds a Hazardous place to be! I just know these are going to go down well in class and am excited to hear back from the children as to their thoughts.

Who’s ready for Halloween??

Two fantastic education resources from @bloomsburychildrens on the gird tonight.

First two videos - The Neuro inclusive Educator by Victoria Bagnall. A really practical book for helping transform practice that has lots of quick wins and case studies.

SEND strategies for the Primary Years
Georgina Durrant again filled with lots of practical ideas following specific areas of need which is so helpful for dipping in and out of. I love how full of QR codes it is so you can see the activities in practice / so so helpful!

Dear Boss, if you got this far, don’t judge me for my calculation yesterday- I couldn’t make sense of the calculation and felt like I was being SO dumb. I was… not that dumb though…. 🤣🤣 don’t fire me!

The Pumpkin Thief
@alicehemmingauthor @nicolaslater
AD - PR

😭😭 Squirrel is back and this book is just delightful. Full of all the joy of the previous books in the series, Squirrel just doesn’t seem to understand what’s going on. An adorable autumnal edition to the series, all about growing and giving to friends. We are so happy to see Squirrel and Bird back again.

Thank you so much to @scholastic_uk for the goodies and the book - I’ve linked it on my stories as I’ve found it for an amazing price 🤩🤩

Can’t wait to read again for our #sundaybedtimestory
