Running an Ultra is 90% mental and the other 10% is mental too. Often it is a strong mind that wins out over strong legs. Ultra-marathoning is too capricious and individual for any rule to be set in stone. Every race/location/terrain is different and that’s what I miss about trail racing overseas. Don’t forget about your nutrition plan…on when to hydrate and when and what to eat…which is extremely important to test it out. Try to simulate your training as close to the actual race terrain (stairs , slopes) and of course the right gear (bag, shoes, outfit, etc) as well. So fun right? 😅

Throwback to Ultra-Trail Australia (UTA) comes to mind as this amazing and beautiful 100k trail race filled with lush greens, waterfalls, mini-caves, rock climbing, wild kangaroos hopping in the wilderness, 5-10c temp and high elevation (4500m D+) in the Blue Mountains. Lovely sub20hr buckle medal! Great memories and look forward to explore new trails again 😅🤟🏼🙌🏼

Ultras are a lot like life, condensed into bite-size morsel. It’s not about reaching the finish line first, it’s about learning to embrace the journey for its own sake. If you’re looking for pain and misery…you will find it. And if you’re looking for joy and happiness…you find it too. Remember the saying….where attention goes, energy flows💪🏼🤜🏼🤛🏼

@adidas Adizero Adios Pro 5 ⚡️ Light. Fast. Smooth.

First few runs (40k) in the AP5, and I’m liking what I’m feeling! 👌🏼 From warm-up strides to picking up the pace, it feels stable, smooth and comfortable.

The new dual-foam setup with EnergyRim instead of energy rods gives it a different ride from the AP4 — less aggressive, but easy to settle into and cruise 💨 It feels somewhere between the AP3 and AP4 for me, with a nice balance of firmness and softness. The lesser drop from 6mm to 4mm (more foam at the forefoot) changes your stride and cadence 🏃🏻‍♂️

Love the new sawtooth laces (finally!😅) and the added heel mirror detail. First impressions? An awesome shoe for long runs and marathons, with plenty of versatility across paces.

Fit tip: I’d go half a size up, just like I did with the AP4.

More miles, more testing. Let’s see how it holds up! 🏃🏻‍♂️💨

💦 Pocari Sweat Run 2026 — 10K DONE! 🤟🏼

A great run to get the legs moving again — still recovering from last week’s Sydney Marathon! 🇦🇺🏃🏻‍♂️

One of my favourite annual 10K events, and this year’s edition did not disappoint. 🙌🏼 Loved the new route and event space at the National Stadium, and as always, the energy from the running community was 🔥 both before the start and after crossing that finish line.

Sometimes, it’s not about chasing a PB. It’s about getting out there, enjoying the run, soaking up the atmosphere and reminding yourself why you love running. ❤️

Congrats to everyone who ran on the race today — whether you were chasing a goal, getting back into running, or simply enjoying the experience. You all made it to the finish line! 🏁🎉

Now… time to recover, rest those legs 💤 and, of course… stay hydrated! 💦😆

I also brought along the Brooks Hyperion Elite 6. 👟⚡️to test drive it. It was an absolute pleasure 🤟🏼

It’s lightweight, bouncy and fast, and it picks up the paces comfortably and effortlessly! With the updated carbon plate (speedVault+), the propulsive energy return makes the transition into toe-off feel really smooth.

It’s also soft and cushioned but not mushy, the new DNA Gold PEBA foam gives enough protection without losing that race-day feel. The TTS fit and feel is great and especially pushing through the corners and late-race surges.

It feels like a great racing shoe without being overly aggressive. You can push hard, but it still feels comfortable enough to settle into rhythm. It is the real deal and very different from the entire series 🔥💨 You gotta try it to believe it.

7🌟 Majors. Sydney, you were something special. 🇦🇺🏃🏻‍♂️

Running through the heart of Sydney, across the Harbour Bridge with those incredible views, and eventually finishing with the Opera House in sight — that’s a memory I’ll carry for a long time.

The course definitely had its share of rolling slopes 😅, but what made it special was the people. The community showed up in full force — the cheers, the energy, the encouragement — lifting you when the legs were saying otherwise.

And for me, this race was always going to be different.

With a bad leg injury going into the race, there was no chasing a time today. No pressure. No ego. Just party pace — taking it easy, enjoying every kilometre, soaking up the atmosphere and reminding myself why I love running in the first place. PTL

Sometimes, finishing isn’t about the clock.

It’s about being grateful that you’re still able to start.
It’s about embracing the journey, even when it doesn’t go according to plan. And sometimes, it’s simply about smiling your way to the finish line. 😀❤️

Sydney, thank you for the memories, the energy and the unforgettable finish.

Flashback to one of my last ultra trail 100k race (4480 D+) was one of those raw trail jungle races off the beaten path thru day/nite. Total mudfest! 😬I guess as they say no pain, no gain and how far you can push the limits….that’s why we are attracted to Ultra-races, it’s a given 😅 It’s always about the journey (the fun part) and not just the destination. One of my most memorable ultra races, is racing for 100miles in hot and humid conditions (32c) and finishing as the 1st Singaporean 🏆 (2nd overall) finishing under 24hrs. The tougher runs are the runs I learn most about myself. It never gets easier, you just get stronger! 💪🏼 Looking forward to get back to more ultra runs soon 😅🤙🏼

Overjoyed & Completed my 6 stars🌟World Marathon Majors at the London Marathon 🇬🇧 in sub 4 😅🤟🏼despite my sprained ankle and stopped my training weeks ago (by god’s grace 🙏🏼) I am grateful and thankful to be able to enjoyed every fun mile in this amazing race soaking in the moments and experiences, hi-five, raise hands to the crowd and a big smile!😊 Focusing more on enjoying the run, cruising the streets of London than my pace. It’s not always about timing, Try it 😉

Besides the chillin’ winds at the start line for an hour 🥶, great race weather condition, insane spectators, screaming cheers and support throughout the race! They are energy boosters that will carry you through the race. Though the race was a bit crowded, including some narrow parts of the route but they were moving along steadily. Definitely more runners this year than the past years! The main highlights were The Tower Bridge (1/2 way point) and the last 2k from the view of London eye, into Big Ben and around the corner of Buckingham Palace…with 200m left dashing through with British flags 🇬🇧 on my both sides! It was awesome! 🥳 This might be my fave major race over NY.

I am thankful for all the support from my family, friends and the community with tons of messages. You have been amazing 👏🏼 PTL🙏🏼 Time to chillax, full recovery and on to the next thing!😅🤙🏼
